This Pie Shop refuses service to cash customers. This practice is discriminatory and is introduced under the guise of Covid. Cash is legal tender in Australia but Milkwood of Berry does not want your business. If you have no credit card and only cash they discriminate against you and will not serve you. What about older people who don't use credit cards, well according to the Pie Shop management, bad luck for them, go elsewhere. This problem is evident in reviews from as far back as 2018, they are not listening and do not care. A bad business practice and even more insulting when you have lined up to be served. In my case I asked for the shop attendant to cut a sausage roll in half which was refused. I think they have the equation back to front. They are there for the customer not the other way around. Also, re the reason for not accepting cash is Covid fears, you would be more at risk going to a lavatory in a Club or similar establishment. It promotes fear in the community, it is questionable if it is any safer for the customers. How do we know that the staff do not have any medical conditions that are communicable, there must be an element of mutual trust which is absent in this Pie Shop. My experience left me demeaned and discriminated. If you value your right to use Legal tender cash to make any purchase anywhere then you should consider where you place your order. Their food is not anything to get excited about and certainly not worth being treated in the manner which leads to you, the customer, being turned away for a very frivolous indulgence by the owner of this Pie Shop. I refuse to give it the dignity of referring to it as a Bakery and I will not be returning with cash or card. Loyalty is earned and Milkwood Pie Shop has not earned my...
Read moreI came in today from Sydney for a day trip as I was told the pies are beautiful and the cakes are amazing. I ordered 4 pies, 4 little pizzas and 2 little cakes of banana bread. Cost me $75 and I can tell you right now it was not worth. My husband and I had this for dinner with our kids and if I wasn't all the way back in Sydney I would of gone back to Milkwood for a full refund. I ordered two plain pies which were not plain pies they had curry and two Cauliflower and cheese pie and got mushroom, bacon and carrot instead which I cannot eat mushrooms. It's extremely disappointing and not to mention the two banana bread that we had were so hard, and our pizzas for kids were tasteless. We couldn't eat any of the food that we threw it all out and my poor husband has been sick after Tasting the food. I didn't even bother giving it to my kids. I have stomach cramps myself. The lady said behind the counter she had been changing the tags all day on the food because it was all wrong prior to me leaving. I just think people could be allergic like myself to mushrooms. Horrible experience, like I said if I wasn't all the way in sydney I would of come back and got my full refund! Not at...
Read moreReturned here yesterday and tried their torpedo rolls, savoury muffins and Portuguese tarts. All were good and thoroughly enjoyable. Their coffee was also very good. The only slight downfall was ordering the pizza which I was charged for and then the server realised they were sold out and said please pick something else as Iâve already charged you for it. The item I chose didnât match the price and I wasnât offered the differenceâŚ. As the store was really busy I just let this slide.
Visited yesterday (busy public holiday Monday)
The line was super long, although moved quite quickly. Considering it was midday, great selection still available.
I tried the cauliflower and pecorino pie. Wasnât bad, wasnât fabulous. Next time Iâll try a different flavour.
My partner got an apple danish and a cinnamon scroll, he didnât rate either of them.
I got a fresh fruit (strawberry) tart with custard and shortcrust. It was delicious and Iâd highly recommend trying them.
Overall, Iâd definitely try more of their options to get a better overview of...
