While it looked good there is very little room for a wheelchair & it makes it almost impossible to get around without people needing to move from there chairs & tables. This made it really difficult to check out the menu at each venue so I just went by cruisine type & easiest to maneuver too. I think the same could be said with prams having the same difficulties too. The lighting was a little too dim for all of us too. While the varieties of food types looked to be good our choice wasn't great once we received it. I wouldn't choose to eat from the Thai ever again nor give it even one star. The Chicken Satay Skewers were a complete disaster with the chicken being very questionable that it was in fact actually chicken at all. The texture of the meat was rubbery & slimy & unlike any chicken we'd ever eaten let alone tasted. We were unsure of what type of animal it actually was & we've kept it so it can be examined by the university for confirmation. Even the satay sauce was like that from a jar with just crushed nuts sprinkled over the top. The Vegetarian Spring Rolls weren't crash hot either & tasted like pre-made grocery store manufactured. Such a disappointment for us especially being first timers. Just a really bad choice...
Read moreIt's great to be able to drop into Eight Street while shopping to meet with friends or even just as a visit to share some plates of food together.
There is a lot of variety of Asian foods and you are free to choose from whatever store you like. Then you can join together with friends at the communal tables to eat your meals. These tables and chairs or tables and stools are well maintained and cleaned regularly. I like that you can also buy drinks and alcohol, for example, beers, ginger beer, soft drinks, plum wine and even Sake!... yes it's licensed. I visited with a friend for lunch during the week and we enjoyed some Sar chui pork pancakes and also Peking Duck pancakes. This is a great style of eating as there's no waiting and the food is always a hot. It is great for us slip in slip out no fuss really tasty...
Read moreHit and miss with the quality and some customer service can be poor. As Asian, I would not call many of these places authentic. And $15 for a bowl of soup filled with lots of bland broth and less ingredients? That said, Wontonton used to be great, but left. The Bubble tea stall is nice too and their staff is lovely. Today, I experienced an unfriendly female staff from Rolling Man snap at me several times because I ordered something from their pictures and she tried to tell me that they had other menu items on the other wall. I ended up not ordering and she was rolling her eyes. Woman, if you don’t want to work there, please don’t, as that place will lose business because of your behaviour and attitude. Poor English is not an excuse for terrible customer service. A little smile and friendliness would be...
