Ramen Ye Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I was very tempted to give 3 stars but the reality is, waiting 45 mins for 2 min noodles is unacceptable.

The service was pleasant but the waitress was extremely overwhelmed and wasn't able to keep up with the number of instore customers plus takeaway customers.

The food itself was of a passing standard however the noodles were quite thin and not at all alkaline (store bought, low quality). The broth on the tonkotsu was fairly nice but not as pale as a higher quality tonkotsu and also smelled extremely unpleasant. The toppings were mostly good (the pork was particularly good) but the egg was regular medium boiled, not soy soaked. The tare was undetectable.

The karaage chicken was alright but quite floury and rather inexplicably served with Japanese mayo which didn't really do anything for the flavour.

Chashu pork and rice was fairly good - the chashu pork had been blasted with a torch giving a smoky flavour. The sauce was excellent.

Ultimately, the food itself is fine and the service is pleasant but the wait time...

We went to Sri Thai at Mt Ommaney last night. We haven't been there for a while but it was obvious that the restaurant has changed hands. The efficient lady owner from the past was not present. The food and service was very ordinary to say the least. The pad thai which was the signature dish of the past was disappointing - just soggy noodles, a little chicken and bean sprouts. There was no service and when we got the attention of the young waitress to ask about the status of our meals, her response was "I wouldn't have a clue"! We ordered a couple of dishes and rice to take home to the family but when we arrived home we found no rice. I called the restaurant but there was no apology and the manager was too busy to talk with me. I phoned the owner today to advise how disappointed we were with the restaurant and he only thanked me for the feed back. I’ve been waiting here for over an hour and still haven’t gotten any of the food I ordered. The only two people working here are shouting at each other in the back. There’s so many people waiting for takeaway orders I’ve lost count. Several others are complaint about wrong orders or orders given to the wrong person. And yet when the phone rings she picks up immediately to take even more orders. The person who just called said he was in a hurry and she tells him that’s okay, we will put your order right through now! Really?! I’ve been waiting for over an hour and they get priority? At least offer a free drink and an apology. Very bad...
