My Boyfriend and I had been to the restaurant a couple of times for takeaway and were really impressed with the rewards system. We dined in for the first time tonight, and were really disappointed with both the food and the service.
We ordered 9 of the little sushi plates and one giant $15 udon meal. A couple of the dishes were a little questionable when it came to freshness, but they were off the conveyor.
I asked for the udon in a takeaway container, and the younger bloke said that was fine. Then the manager, who I think might be his father, just walked past and stated 'extra' and the boy said it would be an extra 15c. Enviro concious? fine. All good.
When we finished, we checked with the young girl there if the udon would count towards the 10 plate stamp, and she said yes. We went to the counter, the young man served us, and said they had to be the small plates. the young girl then said to him that she told us it was ok. The boy was about to process this and then the older man came over, said something to them in their first language that we couldn't understand, walked off, and suddenly we weren't getting our stamp. That was that. And he didn't even bother to come talk to us himself.
The younger staff were clearly really uncomfortable. They were made to look foolish, and were forced to take back their word. The older man is clearly just a money hungry cheapskate.
The whole point loyalty programs is to keep customers coming back. These customers...
Read moreI have been attending this restaurant on a weekly basis almost for over a year, spending in excess of 50 dollars, however the store manager n workers have no understanding about loyalty to loyal customers. The loyalty card with stamps is a joke, we forgot our card, but they stated store policy is that we cannot stamp the card when you return even if you show a receipt. Some of the staff have poor customer service skills, and they cry foul when your child accidentally makes an incorrect order and you advise them we don’t want the sushi. A waitress in particular that is making the sushi will show a face of absolute disgust, whereas they could simply just place on the conveyor belt, instead of looking at us like we just cost them their livelihoods. The workers are not personable, in fact I find some of them to be just down right distasteful in their customer service skills. I can guarantee you I will never give them another red cent of mine. Just remember who pays your bills. By the way boss, when you were standing by watching this all unfold tonight, what did you do to satisfy your loyal customers. That’s right, you did nothing. I have dined at hundreds of restaurants, but have only EVER felt the need to review on these two restaurants. Always some learnings for every experience, both parties actually, only the ignorant and the obtuse demonstrate no insight. Have a good day, yours truly, former customer. By the way speak for...
Read moreMay 2021. Last few times I've eaten here I notice a man come from the back stand, arms folded, and stare. Tonight I ordered takeaway. Out he came standing behind me, to my right, staring
I literally stopped ordering as quite frankly, he's weird and I want to leave.. Back in the kitchen he goes! I pay and leave. Ohh I did find out as I was leaving all alcohol needs to be consumed inside. I tried to buy a small bottle of their lemon wine. ;) I believe it's a law requirement good on the staff for enforcement. :)
Lady serving was brilliant as was the food. Delicious duck. Panko prawns. Tuna and avo minis.. yum. Seared salmon. And karrage roll. Each one was perfect because I can order no mayo! Noice! Who says you can please every one. ‐--------------------------------------
We have been going since it opened. A little too much mayo on a few things would be my only critic.
Each visit served beautiful food to feast the eyes and the tongue.
Normally spend $30 _ $45 for two. We are slowly working through the whole menu and I recommend doing the same.
I love being able to have my favorite dish, yet still look at that rolling track and find another delight.... If you can nail down a choice.
After visiting each week or fornightly. We were pleasantly surprised to see some new items. While keeping the Japanese feel. In fact. Thinking about it. I'm going for dinner now... Enjoy.
P.s photo is takeaway...
