Extremely Disappointed!! Overpriced and Unreasonable Charges

I used to be a regular at this cafe, but after my recent experience, I won’t be returning and I encourage others to think twice before spending their money here.

The prices have always been on the high side, but charging $3 to grind coffee beans that I just purchased from them is completely unreasonable. I’ve never encountered anything like this anywhere in Australia. And I’ve bought beans from cafés all over the country.

When I questioned the charge, I was told it’s because the grinder blades heat up during use, which affects the quality of the coffee they serve! so they charge extra if you want your beans ground. Honestly, that sounds like a weak excuse. They have two grinders, and it makes no sense to penalize a paying customer for something that should be part of the service.

To make matters worse, I was there just before closing time around 2 PM. There were only two customers in the cafe! clearly not a busy time , and it would’ve cost them nothing to show a bit of goodwill and waive that charge. Instead, they stuck rigidly to a petty policy.

It’s disappointing to see this kind of treatment at a place I once supported. This is not how you build loyalty or respect in the coffee community. I won't...

A small dog-friendly cafe. My partner and I came by for a Sunday brunch over the weekend and it was relatively quiet. There were a few other customers, not too busy so our food came out pretty quickly. The servers were nice, but we did have to clean the table up a little ourselves before sitting (nothing major, just moved leftover jugs, napkins and salt/pepper from previous customers) and get table water ourselves.

We ordered an Eggs Benedict and the Corn & Coriander fritters. The fritters and accompanying sides tasted great, but the fritters themselves quite small so that was disappointing. The chargrilled lemon was a nice touch. The coffee and food was overall average in taste but well presented.

The highlight was definitely my drink - I really loved the dairy-free peanut butter banana smoothie. That was fantastic and I highly recommend it.

While seated, there were a few tables outside with dogs so many doggo pets were had and it was a pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning. Thanks...

Great coffee and friendly customer service. I normally order take-away but have dined in a few times. You can SMS your order and the staff reply quickly advising you when your order will be ready (Normally 10-15 mins). My husband likes the brekky burger and says it’s delicious and really fresh. I enjoy the açaí bowl with their special in-house granola ....it’s yum! My kids are happy with a simple croissant with jam and butter accompanied with a choc Nutella milkshake or banana smoothie. The staff are extremely thoughtful, kind & happy!! Located behind Logan Rd...this little treasure is worth a visit for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Highly...

If you like a cup of strong coffee. This is the place. Nestled in between several apartments and just a stone's throw away from neighboring houses. Blacksmith coffee is a caffeinetic dream come true if you live in the vicinity. My coffee vocabulary is not yet extensive and therefore all I can tell you is the coffee tastes different. In a good way. What was supposed to be a drop-in-pick-up-coffee-n-go became a grab a seat and I'll have a breakky roll. I can't say much about the food but judging from what I see displayed, you won't make any wrong choices here.
