Read moreThank you Louise and team for providing an enjoyable and memorable night, dining and watching footy at the Aspley Hornets AFL clubhouse.
A 5 star night and close footy game, relaxing with family, with delicious and affordable dining menu, live music, well designed venue and an excellent staff team led by manager Louise.
The clubhouse’s modern redesign is award winning, providing customised dining and viewing spaces to accomodate diverse ages and gatherings. Including a safe and fun children’s space.
The trophies display in the entrance is impressive. The framed history of club champions showcases a strong legacy. Contemporary, consecutive QAFL Premiers.
My son played footy here growing up so I may be biased but I always considered the Hornets to be the premier QAFL club and clubhouse on our Brisbane Northside.
The customised bar and dining spaces is conducive to me and older attendees enjoying a relaxing, entertaining, safe communal night out.
I appreciated the welcoming, professional and courteous staff.
Manager Louise was very kind and diligent in approaching, breaking the ice, welcoming my family, chatting about the footy and kindly adjusting the tv volume for nearby patrons.
After a long day I enjoyed and needed the quality menu of delicious food and drink options, like my favourite Kedron-Wavell RSL.
Was surprised at how affordable the delicious dessert special was.
We had a close view of a large HD TV screen and I really enjoyed watching a great game of footy between my long time favourites from growing up in Victoria, the Collingwood Magpies, and my adopted Queensland favourites, the Brisbane Lions.
It was great to watch the footy with a vocal, passionate, knowledgeable and respectful community.
I must say a family member coming out of hospital accidentally dropped their bank card and it was safely handed in to reception and we were called up immediately to collect it. Good communal ethos.
At the end of a memorable night, I signed up as a Hornets Club member. Thank you Louise and...
Read moreI think the Aspley Hornets Football Club should be ashamed about the direction the club are heading. I have been a member of the Hornets for many years with kids in the system and proud to have been part of such a successful junior club.
The Hornets who started as a Junior Club years ago seem to have forgotten where their roots lay, I have sat in the background for many years noticing a large focus on the seniors, however, the club started to gain some traction in previous years doing a fantastic job promoting their junior system, sharing the spotlight and showing their junior community the support it deserves.
This year the club has taken a U-turn, with no care shown for their juniors, masters, and especially nothing for the volunteers who engine this club. It all has resorted back to seniors only and I get that they are getting the results on the field but the junior system is what is keeping this club alive. The club unfortunately is run by an imbecile called Keith who seems to think the world resolves around his previous experience as a player. Furthermore, as a parent who pays extreme fees for their children to a club that has full-time football staff, a little bit more organisation and urgency would be greatly appreciated. The clubs care for their community... declined, their quality and presence online/social media.... declined, and their care for handling parents/coaches enquires..... declined.
Hopefully, the club can turn things around but this year has been a disaster in terms of...
