Read moreFood is always excellent here and they maintain their quality every time I come here. Usually restaurants start to decline but Sankalp have always had amazing food.
The service is disappointing, during my last visit I was standing at the "wait here" sign and the hostess served the other person that was standing at the counter before me, but then instead of serving me next she just started serving people that came up to the counter after that. I kept saying "I'm next" but she kept serving the others. I pointed to the sign that says "queue here" asking if that was real. She said sorry then served another person. Finally after serving 3 or 4 people I get served. Took about 5 mins.
I just had surgery and I knew that I was going to get the island table in high traffic area, as it happens every single time I come here, I have been there about 10 times and it never changes. So I had to put up with every person walking past and bumping into my chair, aggregating my healing. There were free tables but let's plonk him at the same table that he's had every time which happens to be the worst in the restaurant.
They need to put some acoustic panels in the restaurant because you can't hear the people sitting at the same table as you. At the bad island table, the sound comes straight to you from everywhere in the restaurant.

Read moreDescribing this restaurant is a delightful challenge, as mere words seem inadequate to capture its excellence. On my initial visit, I opted for idly, and the experience surpassed expectations. Accompanied by three distinct chutneys, chutney powder in oil, and a flavorful sambar, the taste was truly exceptional. Although the idly portion may be considered modest, the authenticity of the sambar compensated generously.
Curious about the consistency, I revisited the restaurant multiple times—on the second, third, and every subsequent occasion, the experience remained consistently impressive. This unwavering standard is truly commendable.
Venturing beyond idly, I explored the Hyderabadi Dastrkhaan dosa, which proved to be outstanding. While the biryanis deviated from authentic Hyderabadi style, the exceptional taste overshadowed any qualms I might have had. The restaurant consistently delivers on diverse dishes, never falling short of expectations.
However, it's worth noting that when opting for curry takeaways, the quantity often falls short of justifying the price. Despite this minor drawback, the overall culinary adventure at this establishment continues to be a testament to its excellence.
Caution: don't order Rasam for delivery, small box for $7 -...
