Red Rooster Aspley — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Went to Red Rooster Aspley for the first time. We ordered a family pack with a 1.25L drink. As we were dining in and NOT takeaway, we asked for some paper plates, like you would get from KFC. They said they didn't have any. Because we have a large bottle of drink with the family pack, we also asked for some paper cups, they also said they don't have any. I mean, how else would you drink for a family of 6, each take a sip on from the bottle. The lady at the front counter got some small plastic containers that were used for mash potatoes and gravy to use as small cups. As you can see in the photos, we were using tissues as paper plates. In the family pack, we got fried chicken and a whole roast chicken. Which was offered to cut up in 8 pieces for us. But it looked like it was ripped up in 8 pieces. The roast chicken was really dry.kinda felt like it was from yesterday chicken.Also quite Blaned as well. The fried chicken was alright. But the sizes of the chicken are so different in size. The large ones were decent size , but the small pieces were like the size of a 2-year-old fist. So tiny. Didn't expect all pieces to be large , but the small pieces were way too small. When I took it back to the counter , one of the internal kitchen staff said the large one is big, so the small ones off set the large pieces. I understand that part, but the off setting sizes are too outrageous. The service there was under average, no smile from anyone, kind of like they all don't want to be there. We didn't finish the food, so we took a couple of pieces of fried chicken and the crunchy slaw back home. When having the slaw the very next day, we found a small piece of soft plastic , kinda looks like it was from a plastic package of some sort. Definitely won't be going back to that store ever again. If there was a zero star, I would be giving that. There is much better service and food from Nundah Red Rooster.. the lady there was full of smiles and giving you suggestions, the food was great. She was good with all customers who walked through the doors. Aspley needs serious training and to up their standards. If we had never been to the Red Rooster at Nundah and having experienced this at Aspley on this occasion, then I wouldn't consider going back to Red Rooster at all. All because we had a great experience at in service and quality from Aspley. On this occasion, we will still visit Red Rooster, but just not the one in Aspley ever again. Picked my daughter up from Aspley state high and thought it might be nice to get some chips on the way home... good god was I wrong!

Pulled up at 2:45pm and there were two cars ahead of us. I pulled up to the microphone to order and the conversation went like this: -hello, welcome to red rooster, what would you like? -2 large chips both with extra salt please. -a half chicken, anything else? -no... I only want two large chips with extra salt please. -sorry, we don't have pork... -TWO. LARGE. CHIPS. EXTRA. SALT! -2 chips extra salt. Please drive through to the window.

Got to the window and was only charged for one chips. Two minutes later, no... I wish I was joking... a different man comes to the window and informs me I was only charged for one chips so he charges me for the second.

TEN MINUTES LATER, a girl comes to the window, hands me one box of chips and tells me to have a good day. I ask where the other one is and she takes mine back and returns in another three minutes (yes, I was watching the clock) with two chips in the bag.

Arrived at Red Rooster at 2:45 and left there at 3:17 pm. Fast food my backside. I will NEVER return to this store, if I were able to leave a negative star review I would. They definitely do NOT deserve...

My experience after 3 recent purchases using drive thru.

Went to speaker box to order, that was fine. The actual road in the drive thru is quite narrow, particularly after the speaker box at the corner. I would not recommend using the drive thru if you are not a good driver. On all occasions the drive thru attendant was not there and generally had to wait a while for someone to show up, on one occasion, I arrive at the window, there was a guy cleaning the floor inside, and once he was finished he disappeared into the walk in fridge, then waited for 10 minutes for anyone to show up. Very disappointed.

The food on all occasions has been extremely disappointing. Rooster rolls had barely any chicken on them, always soggy, like they have been in a microwave. Chips were barely edible on the last occasion, and tasted like they replaced the salt with a different type, they were disgusting.
