Read moreI was in today having some lunch with my family that was mediocre at best. Young staff were very pleasant. Had to ask for butter for pancakes.... However the stand out thing that made me so disappointed in fact my blood boil, is when going inside I saw a large fish tank with a VERY large fish in it. Far too small for the size of the tank. There were several other fish approx 30-40 cm long in that cramped tank also! The fish was huge and looked miserable. At least the tank was clean as far as I could see. I asked to speak to the owner, she was immediately rude when I expressed politely that I thought the fish too large for the tank. She said the fish was FINE! "I've had the RSPCA out and they told me " She snapped .... Well no surprise if they have been out as others must have brought it to their attention also. The owner really could have handled the situation calmly and politely, but instead chose to be rude and insensitive. No surprises if she chooses to speak to a paying customer like this, that she would have little regard for a living animal. I am not a vegetarian or an activist, but I will call out for creatures that I feel could be suffering. She also said after my statement that I felt that it was cruel to keep a fish in a small enclosure for it's size, that "I should keep my opinions to myself". That is true and I do, but we do have to call out injustice for those that cannot speak for themselves.
Very very disappointing.
P.s. in response to her comment below. I was certainly NOT rude to her young staff members. I am not that sort of person. I asked to speak with the owner, politely. Maybe you should be looking at the content of this complaint instead of trying...
Read moreJust wanted to send a big shout out to The Crepe Cafe today for what would have been one of their biggest days being Mother's Day. I booked a week ago not even imagining that we would get a booking and we had a large party for that morning. Nothing was too much trouble and we were accommodated perfectly. Being a hugely busy day tables were given an hour and a half to order, eat and go.which we thought might have been rushed but the service for us was quick and we all got our meals extremely quickly and still had time to eat and chat and enjoy the time. The young lady at the register was extremely cheerful and friendly and was a joy to deal with as was the young "fairy" out the front who was sorting tables as people came and went. She did an amazing job to keep everything flowing. We love eating here at any time but today was amazing. Thank you all for a wonderful Mother's Day...
