Update: we've been back a couple more times and it's still really good. Third time I've gotten the pumpkin feta salad because honestly it's so fresh and so good! Keep doing what you are doing, maybe add a few more lunch specials and please bring back a play area for kids thanks. Also the new addition to the menu "Thai Beef Salad' is absolutely spot on!

I previously wrote a negative review but have since been back and it was a very delightful experience. We took our three young kids and the food came out in 5 mins. This is a game changer for parents. The food was generous, kid friendly and they got a drink and ice cream included. Absolute deal! The menu had a great selection and the prices appeared much more reasonable. The food was generous and delicious, nothing too fancy, a great pub meal. It was busy, there was an atmosphere and it felt like how it used to be. It felt much more of a local family vibe rather than the previous impression that they were trying to kill the bistro and focused on the pokies as their main source of income. Definitely good to have our local back. I don't know what has changed behind the scenes but they have definitely turned it around. Well done and keep up the great work. Thank you. My husband and I visited tonight for dinner and it was fantastic. We called quite late and were kindly allowed to making a late booking for 8:30pm. A lady named Emma answered the phone to take our booking and was incredibly polite and helpful, and she continued to show the same pleasant demeanour in person when she took our orders and made our drinks! We have been here a few times now and the food has always been delicious. All of the staff are also very well presented and our main wait staff were Gill and Emma. They were both so accommodating and helpful and they made us feel very welcome, both in the bar and the restaurant. Without a doubt some of the best service we have ever encountered, not just at this hotel, but at any local pub. The venue itself is lovely and the staff really pay attention to everyone's needs, even on a busy night like tonight. They had a lot of big bookings but still treated us and those other small tables around as if were were just as important. The atmosphere and staff are great since they were bought out by Star- but the food is terrible. Please change your menu or your chefs! Every meal I have tried is just “average”. I’m convinced your chefs mustn't try your food- it’s 9 times out of 10 terrible. No chef would be proud to present that. I’ve had salmon that is clearly pre cooked, microwaved and slapped on a hot pan to crisp up as it’s overcooked and still cold in the middle. I’ve had a “brisket” burger that was clearly also microwaved as it tasted worse that hospital meat and lacked any seasoning whatsoever. Also a massive section of un-rendered fat through it. Inedible. Notified staff and got the standard “I don’t care response” of sorry about that. Pleeeeease look at your menu and improve! It could be a really great venue and you’ve put a lot of money into the renovations but the food is...
