Overview Betty's Burgers (BB) is a trendy and spacious burger joint conveniently located at the busy Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.

Food My wife and I dined, and we ordered two deluxe burgers, a serving of onion rings, a serving of French fries, tomato sauce, and a bottle of Four Pines Amber Ale. The food and drink were satisfactory. The burgers are compact and neatly assembled, making them easy to eat without the ingredients spilling out. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the melted cheese, bacon, and pickles added an extra layer of flavour. The chips and onion rings complemented the meal well, with the chips being soft and the onion rings having a crispy texture with fresh onion. We enjoyed our meals, although the portion sizes were small considering the high prices.

Service The ordering process is straightforward and efficient. You place your order and pay at the front counter, where you'll receive a buzzer. When the buzzer goes off, you collect your meals from the adjacent service counter. The system works well. The staff are friendly and polite, and it took less than 15 minutes for the meals to be ready. But when collecting our meals, it became apparent that value for money may not be their strong suit, as the two burgers and onion rings (worth $40) all fit neatly into a tiny cardboard tray measuring about 20 x 20 cm.

Ambience The decor is bright and cheerful, creating a super casual, laid-back, and relaxed atmosphere with strong lighting, comfortable chairs and solid wooden tables that can easily accommodate all the drinks and meals (not surprising given their size). The seating is mostly outdoors under cover, ideal for balmy Brisbane spring nights, although it could get chilly in winter. Being a Saturday night, there was a reasonable turnout, but due to the size of the place, there were still plenty of tables available.

Cost We paid $57 for two tiny "deluxe" burgers, one serving of chips, one serving of onion rings, and a bottle of Amber Ale. A few years ago, this meal would probably have cost around $40. The burgers were seriously small, as were the onion rings. Only the chips were a decent portion size, and $9 for a bottle of ale just goes to show the extent of the hyperinflationary crisis that has overtaken this country, especially since May 2022. A visit to a local burger joint for two people should not cost this much. If my wife had been a beer drinker, the total cost would have been $66 for two beers, two burgers, and two sides.

Toilets There are clean and well provisioned toilets in the shopping centre, just outside the restaurant.

Parking Ample parking is available in the centre, with the first three hours free.

Summary We had a pleasant evening at BB on a Saturday night. The burgers are excellent, the service is fast and friendly, and the casual, relaxed atmosphere in an airy space with plenty of tables is appealing. The clean toilets and free parking are added bonuses. However, the high prices for small portions are a negative, reflecting the current economic climate...

Betty's Burgers is probably my favourite place to get vegetarian burgers ever! I've had far too many burgers with the typical grilled portobello mushroom, which is fine but gets pretty boring for me as a vegetarian with limited food options when eating out. The shroom burger here is made with a suuuper yummy crispy breaded mushroom patty with cheese inside. It's so unique and flavourful, really a step above the usual. The cookie butter concrete we had this time was delicious as well, a perfect sweetness and delightfully rich; my potentially weird suggestion is to save some fries and dip them in 😋

Service was amazing; I expected it to be mostly self-service as orders are taken at the counter and you get a buzzer to let you know when to pick your order up, but Kez was so lovely throughout our visit, bringing us our food as well as checking on us to make sure everything was okay. It was pretty calm when we were there (in terms of traffic) so I'm not sure if staff are usually that personal, but during previous visits to other outlets I've had equally amazing interactions with the staff members so I think that really is just how it is 😊 Thank you Kez!! You are such a cool and sweet gal ✨

The interior is awesome, it has a slight diner vibe to the aesthetic that really suits the food served. The seating is comfortable and I think it could be a perfect place for a social event, but also just for a simple meal out.

Big big love for Betty's Burgers 🥰

Edit: I was so blinded by love I forgot to mention my one qualm, which is that they use single-use items for basically everything. I believe the cardboard boxes for the burgers are recyclable but the drink cups are still plastic-lined, and regardless I generally prefer to minimise waste. If someone from the team sees this and tells me that I can use my own container/cup/bottle here my love for Betty's would break the scale. Jokes aside, I would love to see reusable utensils instead of...

I'll start by saying that my burger was delicious which is the only reason I'm not giving a one star review. My partner and I dropped in with our daughter and ordered 1 meal to share. The long line was understandable as it was lunch time, what I found entirely unacceptable was the 39 minute wait after ordering and paying for our order. Let's make this clear, after 39 minutes it's not that we received our order, this is when when we went up to the counter to ask about it. The staff in the kitchen were unaware of our order and had to go looking for it, after finding the order at the register we realised it had never been given to the kitchen staff to prepare. We quickly received our meal only to have the server quietly drop the meal on our table without a word and walk away, the was burger made incorrectly and with a side of the wrong sauce, needless to say after 40 minutes I expected the order to be correct and an apology. After notifying the manager of this she took the meal and quickly fixed it.

Regardless of this my family will never be eating at this establishment again, we will be saving our business for the Betty's burger in coomera as we do quite enjoy the food and we have had good experiences at the coomera restaurant. I am completely disappointed but the lack of service and professionalism we...

Long-time Betty’s fan, longer-time burger enthusiast, and unwilling participant in this tragedy here. This was my first visit to this particular Betty’s and my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined 🫨! For the princely sum of $60, I received: Two chicken burgers so dry and tough I could’ve turned them into a pair of thongs 😟 One serving of onion rings that somehow achieved the rare and coveted flavor profile of ✨ charcoal✨ 🙂‍↕️ And a cheeseburger that tasted like it was cooked on a toilet seat 😭 To wash it all down, I was blessed with a large, flat, lukewarm Coke, because nothing screams “premium dining experience” like sipping room-temperature watery coke whilst choking down a chicken burger made from a deep fried Havaiana sandal 🩴 And the service? How hard is it for the servers to at least pretend that they want to be there, walking around with a scowl. You’d think I’d just given her pet dog a swift kick to the chin the way she speaks to customers when handing them their food 🦵💥🐕 Do yourself a favour, save your money, your taste buds, and your dignity by heading around the corner to Maccas and getting a burger there.
