Cafe Bambi — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Random. Ordered curried egg and lettuce sandwich off menu and they wanted to toast it and i said No I'd like a sandwich fresh bread. Brought it to me toasted on the outside??!!!!. The menu photo next to sandwich looked like a normal sandwich, shouldn't need to request the High Tea version. Who toasts lettuce?? In any case it wasn't curried just mashed with mayo and I've never been served a cup of tea without a pot or milk on the side in another cup (no pourer,) We were the only customers there at 12.50. Took a long time to receive our order. I'm not sure they know what a traditional sandwich is like, usually soft bread. I clearly said to the waitress I didn't want it toasted. Served uncut. Recently moved into the area and found this absolute gem of a place. Love love love their chai tea lattes - possibly the best one I have ever had.

Tried the chicken avocado arepa and it is to die for OMG. I've not yet eaten in so it comes separate for take away and it's so yummy. The shredded chicken is so buttery and tasty. I am not 100% sure what the bread bit is made of (corn, I think?) but it is divine! HUGE serve of avocado which was excellent. Husband tried the plantain with pulled chicken and enjoyed it but may not be a huge fan of the plantain part. All good and worth a shot!

As other reviews have said, it can take a while for the food but it's worth it as it is super fresh and definately value for money. Will have to dine in at some point and try...

I recently visited Cafe Bambi, and it was such a delightful experience! Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. But the real star of the show was their cherry vanilla latte (iced)—it was absolutely divine! The perfect balance of sweet cherry and creamy vanilla, paired with the rich espresso, created a flavor that was both unique and comforting. Every sip felt like a treat.
