Chaa-Ba Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Not a very pleasant experience. Such a shame because my husband and I really wanted to try this local restaurant. Customer service is horrible. We arrived in an empty restaurant and even if the lady in the counter can already see us, she didn't bother asking us to come in. She just looked at us and I had to ask if we can go to a table and sit. No smile was given the entire time we were there. We were the only customers dining in but the food took very long to arrive because they give priority to online orders. Food wasn't that good, we ordered spring rolls, tom yum, pad thai and calamari. Everything was sweet and salty, especially the calamari. Which by the way, is not calamari but cuttlefish-it's like chewing gum. Will not recommend this restaurant and definitely...

If I can give negative star I would have 😡 ordered at 6:25 and food didn't arrive until 8:10.

To add to the insult, my supposedly chilli basil noodle was not spicy and only has three basil leaves in it

Ordered Pad Thai for hubby and it was missing tamarin and ....are you ready for this ? It was cooked with instant noodle style thin noodle and the peanuts were also missing. Like What the actual ???!!

Kids had oyster stir fried chicken 🐔 can you guess if we had any luck ? Bingo ! I am glad you are catching on !!! No oyster sauce flavour at all !!

So all in all, the only positive about this whole experience is : all food were cooked and I didn't have to cook ( although, having said that I wish I had !!!/)

Terrible quality of food. Yellow chicken curry was full of fatty grey chicken thighs and about an inch layer of oil ontop of yellow sludge, with one piece of potato. Spring rolls have a strange taste, the money bags were actually pretty ok as was the coconut rice but the pain of parting with $60 for one curry and 2 entrees was the hardest. We eat a lot of Thai food and we ended up having to buy here on a public holiday as everything was shut… it’s also about 2 minutes from home, but we’ll make the drive to our regular with...
