First and last time we’ll eat here. Walked in, sat down and immediately noticed how freezing cold it was. A family near our table commented to the wait staff and were told the air conditioning is controlled by shopping centre and could not be adjusted.
We ordered crab and corn soup, steamed rice and chicken cashew. The wait staff were pleasant, efficient and attentive. When the soup came out it had a short black hair (like what you’d expect would be on a mans arm) in it. I could’ve been sick. I pushed the bowl aside and informed the wait staff. She apologised and took the charge off our bill, however it ruined our appetite completely as it’s clear this established has poor hygiene practices. Out came our cashew chicken and it tasted as bland as it looked. The chicken was rubbery, the vegetables cut in huge unappealing looking chunks and sauce just tasteless. We forced ourselves to eat a few spoonfuls to avoid possibly being quizzed by staff, but other than that, promptly got up, paid and left. It’s been some time since I’ve dined in an establishment where I’d describe food as inedible, but that’s exactly what this place is like. I went home and had an apple and huge glass of water and actively changed my thoughts to something more pleasant. Just foul. Won’t be back. I’d hate to see what their...
Read moreOK, so our family had kind of written this place off (food quality when they opened was just terrible), but we gave it a second chance a few years later - new management, new chef, might as well. The food quality DID improve, but all-in-all the place is a pretty terrible restaurant still.
My two concrete bits of feedback (and cautionary warning to diners) are:
they routinely stuff up orders. Most recent instance being tonight. Good luck if you want the food to match up with what you ordered and paid for.
the image I've attached is a $19 'salt & pepper squid' dish. Note how in terms of container volume, it's basically EMPTY. They are very inconsistent with portion size and overall quality. In this particular dish, there are 6 pieces of squid. Six pieces. In a nineteen dollar meal.
Kenmore is light on food options if you like chinese, but it's probably worth a drive out to taringa or indooroopilly rather than using this...
Read moreHands down THE WORST experience ever at a (I use this term very lightly) restaurant! Do not go here if you want food because my wife and my parents had to walk out this evening fathers day 2022. A young boy and young girl on the counter and the boy literally was a deer in headlights and as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike the young girl sort of polite but clearly out of her depth.
Took 30 mins to even order and that was after I had to get her attention 3 times. Wanted some glasses for our wine and they never came, wanted 2 rum and coke and they had no rum and waited another 15 mins she had still not given our order to the kitchen. We then decided to leave and went to royal Sri Thai and had a great meal. The prices @ china view are high and you can not even get anything to eat. I will never buy food from this dump again and urge everyone to boycott it. I literally don't know how this place is still in...
