This sushi restaurant, is unfortunately lower than average. It offers very little range of sushi that's individually purchasable, mostly prepared and packed into sets. With nothing out of the ordinary flavors, the restraining shelf size makes a visit to this restaurant hardly worthwhile for anyone desiring a taste of Japanese cuisine. However, for those with cash and just enough time for lunch, this maybe a one-stop-shop for the workers nearby.
The price is also very expensive, the classic curry katsu don is overloaded by diluted curry so as to appear bountiful, though the texture of the chicken offers more than just frozen super market chicken fillets. The unagi (eel) don, comes with just more than half as much eels as what would normally be given. The rice itself offers little more than basic toppings and nothing too fancy, though the quantity of the overall don struggles to fill the bowl it's presented with.
The service within the shop is quite well thought out. The lady is very friendly and kind. The atmosphere is well crafted, with curtains blocking out the kitchen, and sides like soy sauce and pickles, though this is common amongst all sushi restaurants.
In general Tenka Sushi successfully communicates Japanese Traditions though it's carefully crafted interior designs and customer service, though it's fundamentally limited by its financial capacity, and chef's experience. having a meal at Tenka, can create a moderate learning opportunity, but cannot provide satisfaction for anyone...
Read moreDebated long and hard about whether to post this review, and I feel a little bad doing it. I've been a customer at Tenka for years, but now unfortunately I'll never eat food from there again. I have a seafood allergy, so I know, it's a little risky for me to eat sushi, but I always buy chicken, and vegetables, and have been told that they are prepared safely. Unfortunately, when I purchased my sushi Sunday before last, someone decided that fish flakes belong on chicken sushi. Thankfully I realized their mistake before swallowing any sushi, but I was still extremely ill. I realize I'm partially at fault, but I suppose they have been sensible all these years, so I stopped asking if they put seafood on my chicken sushi. When I called to try and get information about what was on my sushi, nobody answered. I later spoke to Tom who works there, who was extremely helpful, but I feel that no one at the store really took it seriously. Disappointing, and sad for me, as I normally love...
Read moreI ordered the Panko prawn Udon to take away today and upon returning home I was very disappointed to find corn in it. We have been eating Udon here for years and keep coming back because it's been the best Udon around hands down! My mother is Japanese so she's very particular about any Japanese foods that she eats and she always gives the thumbs up when we dine here. They must have had a new chef on duty because Udon does not come with corn and unfortunately I have an intolerance to corn so I was unable to eat it. I had been out and about running around shopping all morning so I couldn't be bothered to return it. Not sure if I'll be going back if this is on the cards with the corn but I guess I could make a request to not have...
