Bookings are highly recommended here, the layout is quite intimate and is always busy so book ahead if you are planning to dine in. They also offer take away so you can enjoy the delicious food from the comfort of your home as well. The service here was friendly, quick and attentive to our table despite being quite busy. Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time and was presented well. The dishes themselves were full of flavour, well cooked and very satisfying. The cost here was very surprising, we ordered an entree, drinks, two mains, rice and naan bread but came out feeling full and paid less than $100. Parking is just around the back with plenty of space at night as most of the local businesses are closed.

I recently had a decent experience with this restaurant. The food was enjoyable, featuring great Indian flavors. However, I was disappointed with the masala chai; it wasn’t worth the price and felt poorly made—I’ve never had such a disappointing and flavour less chai before. I did appreciate the theme of the place, which had a cozy, darker ambiance that made it feel intimate and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. While the chai was a letdown, the restaurant still offers good Indian cuisine, worth the visit

METAL IN DISH!! Very disappointed with recent take away as we found a piece of metal wire in the Chicken Sherpa! This is not okay and luckily the children did not eat this dish. I have attached pictures for your reference. Luckily it was not swallowed as it is very sharp. Additionally the palak paneer had very minimal cheese and mostly potato chunks. I am a long time customer but this was not adequate. Butter Naan was lovely as always.

It’s such a shame. We moved to the area from Hope island where we had an amazing local Indian Restaurant. Our first experience with Spicy Affair was so disappointing. We were so surprised at the attitude and inflexibility of the chef and manager. We ordered the two curry deal and wanted to pay extra to upgrade from normal rice to coconut rice. They said it’s not possible. Then proceeded to tell me people ask for this change all the time and they can’t be flexible with the two curry deal.

It’s rice, you serve coconut rice with other meals, it is sold as an option on your menu but not able to be put into the two curry deal.

Baffles me. Just add a button on the till to say coconut rice upgrade. Charge extra $3-$4 if you like. Consider it an upgrade a way of making extra money. Even offer it like: “ would you like fries with that “ mentality

We used to have curry once a week, eat in once a month but will definitely not go here. I know it’s something small but it’s not like I am asking for anything other than a bit...

Paid $90 for a banquet for two and two beers. Waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken, then another 50 for the curry (mains) to be brought out. During this wait time, not once were we offered any other drinks, asked if we needed anything...nothing. When I questioned the manager about the wait time and compared it to a take away order, her response was “it’s 50 minutes wait for take away too”. She wouldn’t even apologise for the delay. Interestingly, after we asked what was going on, only then did the staff start asking us if we needed anything. Three times we were interrupted while eating...while we were completely ignored the previous 50 minutes...

I understand restaurants get busy, but try communicating this with your customers; maybe before they decide to spend $90 at your establishment. And if you have stuffed up, apologise for it yourself, rather than sending your school aged staff to do it for you.

Based on today’s experience, I would not...

WARNING!!! Watch this place and your bill! They overcharge you!!! Simple scams and bad people. The prices on the menu at the front door, which get you in, are not the same prices on menu, inside. I only realised after I paid the bill and brought to manager who refused to acknowledge the menu pricing that is over a metre wide and about the same high, with specific lighting on it for ease of reading and probably two steps from the front door and in pristine condition. ITS ILLEGAL TO DO WHAT THEY DO according to ACCC. According to ACCC your should be charged the lowest price, simply solution take down the menu at front door or change your menu prices to reflect door prices. I suggest go save your hard earned money and visit another high quality local resturant that values their customers and treats them with respect rather than scams them. They give good hard working resturants a bad name for these shady and...
