Worst party experience ever. Everything was bad from start to finish. I’ve actually been to cream house twice before but after today I won’t come back ever.
Environment poorly maintained toilets. Walls were filthy. space was so cramped with the addition of kiddy kart machines at the door and an arcade area inside the already cramped play area play equipment were broken and patched together just with duct tape chairs were stained and baby chairs were not cleaned at all karaoke machine not user friendly at all and extremely frustrating to use!
Service APPALLING!!! Firstly they were definitely understaffed to host a party of 30+ pax on top of their regular customers. We were not being served at all and even after ordering drinks we had to wait more than 40 mins for a cup of coffee??? Yet they kept on serving the other customers despite us going to the counter and asking if our drinks were being made.
Secondly, please get your family member to first identify themselves as a staff member before coming to shout at us?
A middle age lady kept walking in and out of the party area giving us angry stares. and all of a sudden she proceeded to shout at us angrily and demanded to know whose kids were in the play area? She said “They can’t play in the arcade area. Young children needs to be accompanied by adults because they will spoil my machines”. And then she said there should be a sign but they didn’t put it up yet. So how is it my problem excuse me? The only signage was the one that said “play area for children under 6” which we followed and the adults didn’t go into the play area. Yet now you’re telling me it doesn’t apply to this new section and I am suppose to know it from a sign which you didn’t put up???
Anyway we didn’t argue with her and promptly removed our kids but she still kept rambling on and on. Subsequently she kept walking in and out of the play area to put up her makeshift signage. Well please DONT put precious machines in a children area if the children are not suppose to play with it. again same issue with the craft area. Same lady berating us as the kids were browsing the craft sections. And for the record we were already in control of the situation and have instructed the kids to not touch anything without parent intervention.
Please don’t say you are a kid friendly place when you have no tolerance for kids.
Food and drinks coffee was ok but the bubble milk tea was just horrible. I don’t know what was served and it tasted so awful. It was just milk diluted with water? Not sure where the tea was, And the pearls were not the usual ones from bubble tea stores. It had the texture of a gummy sweet but bland taste? . It was the worst drink we had tasted. food was 30 min late and yet it was served cold. So how long was it sitting in the kitchen??? 5 pizzas and all were cold appetiser crackers were already soggy the pasta was so badly cooked. Runny sauce and overcooked noodles. One tray of pasta we had was so overcooked the noodles was just soggy and disintegrated fried cauliflower was basically burnt only one staff serving the entire party pax. And they were so disorganised. Everyone was just standing around waiting for utensils/tongs to get the food. Is this the first party cream house has hosted????
Overall Do not recommend at all. Lots of other kid friendly places that are actually kid friendly to go to. Cream house has lost their individuality with all these new arcade machinery instead of putting effort to maintain their play area or hire more staff. The space is cramped and poorly maintained, not suitable for kids at all. And for those wanting to do some crafts, it seems like the pottery painting is ending on 22 dec 2024. A sad loss as it was the highlight of the night. The other crafts are way...

To start with, everything is horribly overpriced. It cost $38 to paint something the size of my palm, and of the 20 tiny paint tubs I was given only about 4 weren't dried up/dried shut/completely empty. I was also only given browns, black, white and primary colours, no pinks or purples and maybe one green. I had to return it immediately, which took them far too long because of poorly trained staff and by the end of it they had to do my return through cash rather than the card I paid with. I've done plaster painting before for about half the price and it was a million times more worth it - with real paint instead of piddly Kmart-kids-section paint pods.
Even before that it took us literally 10 minutes to even work out what we were doing because there's no staff monitoring the craft section and no directions anywhere. Pricing is hard to find until it's too late, which I think is VERY intentional on their behalf. They want you to bring your kids here so they get attached to the cute little plaster characters and charms so that you can't say no when you find out the price. I literally saw this happen firsthand, except fortunately the mother stood her ground and left without paying the egregious prices.
No sanitary bin (and flies hanging around) in the women's bathroom. Very dirty.
That poor young girl who's clearly not been trained properly - absolutely nothing against her, she was actually very lovely and kind and did not deserve her coworker snapping at her. I'm not sure what her name was, but she deserves to work somewhere a million times better than here.
The robot is a cute gimmick but it did not help them at all with how understaffed they were, and I dare say slowed their service down significantly. It blocked off half the entrance while it meandered slowly towards our table and several families had to simply stand off to the side and wait for it to finish.
The tiny walkway could barely fit prams down it, let alone a wheelchair if you use one. Meanwhile you're picking your beads from that very same section, making it very awkward to walk around.
The food was fine, I guess, but the Brekky Burger tasted greasy and the "caramelised onion" was not caramelised at all - perhaps lightly pan fried? It was still white, at the very least. Chips were overcooked and dry, and nothing was hot anymore by the time our food found us. My friend found a prawn tail in her chips and she did not order anything with seafood. Imagine if you had an allergy and this is how they cook their food - with no regard for cross contamination? Someone could become seriously sick or even die from this lack of care.
Milk tea tasted like water and sugar. Coffee was alright.
It was hard not to tell everybody who walked in past our table to turn around and leave, actually. Reading some of these other reviews, it's kind of funny. If this is "one of the best cafes" you've ever been to, I feel sorry for you. Go...
Read moreI have been a customer of CHC for about 2 years having visited at least 20 times or so. Initially started going there pretty frequently with my mum's group. Since then I have been telling anyone who will listen (mostly parents but not exclusively) about how great this cafe is with a soft play kids area, a robot waiter (again great for kids) and great value food. That wasn't even including the arts and crafts element!
However, unfortunately since I fell in love with CHC it has progressively declined in appeal. The kids area has slowly lost its shine and fallen into a mild state of disrepair. Of course being used constantly will do that! So, I was pretty excited to hear a 'revamp' was coming not too long ago but upon my recent visit was pretty disappointed to see that all that seems to have meant was the inclusion of sensory overload machines. It's hard to encourage kids to play with anything other than the bright shiny/noisy machines that are now tempting them every where you turn. The robot waiter was always a perfect blend of interim interest that was a short burst of excitement for the littles but then you could say "bye bye" and the kids could continue eating and playing. If you can avoid having your child stare absent mindedly into the nightclub vibe of the machine area you will notice that most of the play equipment which used to bring so much joy and happiness are all worse for wear; the poor head of one of the merry go round unicorns is all but decapitated and the wood fixings within are now visible, cars missing parts and the whole area has overall lost its gleam.
It feels like previously the vibes was definitely parents with young children and creative souls and along the way some new things have been tried like the dinner push with music too I believe but it now seems like it's having a bit of an identity crisis and trying to cater to too many things? I don't know and I can't imagine it's easy running a small business in these times. But at the same time I can't say I enjoyed visiting as much and am not sure I will again. This pains me to say because I really did used to love coming here. Maybe in the future we can try again...
I will say though that the food/drink quality has remained the same. Never had a complaint except for onion rings being forgotten a few times. But otherwise you always know...
