Came here tonight with good intentions as finding a good local place to dine can be very skeptical and time consuming. Unfortunately for David's hot pot Calamvale it was not on the good side of things.
Long story short- Place was nice, got a table easy, but waaaaay over priced. (Almost $90 for 2pax for a pot of stock and a few plates of veges, and a small plate of fried pork) let alone half the items that we ordered did not reach our table.. I just don't understand why most Eateries in Brisbane have all the gear but no idea??. Is it that hard to to provide a good honest service?.. I mean, what are the establishments goals/purposes for there future of there business?.. For customers to return? Or to just take peoples hard earned monies and not give a damn?.. All we want is good food and decent service. Plain and simple.. If y'all not cut for the industry of hospitality then easy. Don't do it at all.. These situations are too common and now becoming a major issue. Waste of money, Waste of energy and most of all waste of time. I myself work in hospo and know what it's like. I'm not saying it's guna be berries and apples majority of the time. But just seeing the regular occurrence in it is disappointing. Specially when you look forward to it.
It's not the "100%" guarantee that most look for. It's the decency, morals and providence that make the 100% go without notice.
Anyways,...
Read moreThe only reason i gave 5* is because the hot pot its self is the best i have had in Brisbane. There are a couple in sunnybank, sunny bank plaza and eight miles plain that i have eaten but this is the best hot pot base i have eaten. The flavor and spiciness is awesome and the quality of food is very good and the service was also good. But the downside of this newly opened place would definitely be the staff who runs the operation. We went inn for lunch at 1.30 pm and was told sorry we are closed. Which food and beverage venue in the whole of Brisbane would close for lunch at 1.30 pm. What business strategy do they used as i would really like to know. The we went for dinner at 8.30 pm and initially was worried thatbthey might have closed at 8.30 pm but was happy to see them open. We sat down and ordered the food, food came quite quickly as there's was only couple of tables. No issues there, but soon after that they were closing tables while putting the stools up, sweeping and mopping while few tables were still eating. Now for sure a new business tactic i suppose. Then around 9.30 pm i ordered another slice of lamb plate and was told sorry kitchen is closed. Wow now they really know how to operate a business. Overall food is very good, but i don't want to be rushed to eat because the staff needs to...
Read moreWe went to try new food experience we never had hot pot before so didn't really expect anything but by the look of the photos and the prices was okay, we ordered Barbie beef, lamb and beef mix, crab stick, lobster balls, david fried rice , vegetables mix, fresh soya curd and some fish and fish roe something like that can't really remember anyway, everything is good especially the fried rice it was so good but the fish thingy was bit fishy for me . The service was quick we got everything in under 15 min from the Start of the order . We got tomato and hot soup (mild) the tomato was good! 100% recommended it but the hot soup was to hot even tho it was mild lol, stupid me after reading so many review on it i still like to try it . But no regret at least get to know how it taste . The prices was okay it wasn't cheap and wasn't that expensive because it what we normally pay when we go eating out anyway. I guess it'll be cheaper maybe with more people to share the bill with but the food was just enough for 2 of us. it was an okay new experience to try . But also need to know your sauces I've tried the tiktok viral dipping sauce it...
