I recently visited Dosa hut, anticipating a delightful meal and a warm ambiance. Unfortunately, my experience was tainted by the behavior and service of one of the staff members, Ankit, who single-handedly turned what could have been an enjoyable evening into a frustrating ordeal.
From the moment we arrived, Ankit’s demeanor was far from welcoming. Despite the restaurant being moderately busy, he seemed disinterested and dismissive. When we requested assistance with our seating preference, he responded with an air of indifference, offering curt replies that bordered on rude. A simple acknowledgment or a polite response would have sufficed, but his attitude made it clear that customer satisfaction was not his priority.
The problems escalated when we placed our order. Ankit appeared impatient as we asked for recommendations, rolling his eyes and sighing audibly. His lack of product knowledge was glaringly obvious, as he either gave vague answers or claimed not to know the menu items well. It’s one thing to be unfamiliar with a few dishes, but to display such disinterest in helping customers is completely unacceptable.
When our food arrived, it was clear that Ankit had not noted our requests accurately. A dish we specifically asked to be prepared mildly spiced was served excessively spicy. When we brought this to his attention, he brushed it off, insisting that this was how the dish was “supposed to be served,” rather than offering to rectify the issue. The dismissive attitude and unwillingness to accommodate our needs left us feeling undervalued as customers.
Throughout the evening, Ankit’s inattentiveness was glaring. He failed to check on our table even once after serving the food, leaving us struggling to get his attention for additional water and napkins. When we finally managed to call him over, his response was slow and reluctant, as though we were inconveniencing him by asking for basic necessities.
To make matters worse, Ankit’s behavior during billing was equally unprofessional. He hurried us to settle the bill, practically hovering over us as we reviewed it. This added an unnecessary layer of discomfort to an already disappointing experience.
Overall, my interaction with Ankit was deeply unsatisfactory. While the food at Dosa hut was decent, the poor service and unprofessional attitude exhibited by him overshadowed any positives. Customer service is a critical aspect of any dining experience, and unfortunately, Ankit’s behavior fell far short of acceptable standards.
I sincerely hope the management at Dosa hut addresses this issue and ensures that their staff is properly trained in customer service. A single individual’s lack of professionalism can have a lasting negative impact on a restaurant’s reputation, as it did in this case.
Until significant improvements are made, I am unlikely to return or recommend this...

I’ve had issues with Dosa Hut Mt Gravatt in the past too which was the same for my family and friends who have visited. I used to like their Chicken 65 Biryani 2 years back. Ever since they got a new chef (which I believe) it has been absolute garbage! Sorry to say this but I am sure a lot of people can agree who has been a regular customer from a long time. It just does not taste the same.
Today, I decided to go do my groceries and then had my friend call and place an order which I would pick from the restaurant. I knew there is no point of me going straight to the restaurant after groceries as they would never have prepared the order on time. Went home and then decided to finally go pick it up. Guess what? The staff himself didn’t know what order or who placed. He checked their computer system and it had my order. Later went into the kitchen, came back and told me that the kitchen did not get the docket. How is this even a problem to me? Where is the professionalism of this restaurant? This not a new restaurant that recently just opened to figure out the order system. The staff told me to wait another 20 mins as they are preparing it now after I told them what the order was. Really disappointed in their service! My humble request to the Management (who has not done anything yet based on the horrible results so far) please please take time to understand your staff and pay them the right amount so that they can provide better services to the customers. Also, do hire kitchen staff who have the passion to cook and not just for any other reason to be in there.

As an Indian our selves we were not expecting this low quality food items, Both of us worked with Indian restaurant for couple of months but we never served the non-available product, actually they tricked us, when we sat inside the premises they prompted us to order online. Actually, they didn't told us that their "nan-bread oven" is already shut down, so that we can't cancel the actual order, after serving the snack when the waitress came to serve dosa, she uttered that tandoor oven is not working, then we said if they could prepare some chapaties(simple breads prepared on round iron plate) instead of nan-bread but she denied, so that made us a bit annoyed. This took place after serving half of our meal, but after serving the dosa "which was full of red chillies which later on caused me food poisoning" we canceled the order as we hardly took one or two bites of it and at last the bill became upto 30. So, we paid 30 for eating nothing. Both of us were starving but after eating from this restaurant an unexpected event happened. While moving out the receptionist was saying sorry for nothing(unnecessarily and was showing fake respect- which she failed to show us while we were sitting on table for our meal, we were just respectfully calling her and she was busy on her phone screen @ that time), we really got annoyed as the type of service they gave us.
