We have visited Top In Town Upper Mt Gravatt a few times in the past, and on our recent visit (Thursday morning) we noticed that the restaurant has been renovated. The new interior looks neat and clean with spacious tables, comfortable seating, and pleasant background music, which creates a welcoming dining atmosphere.
For food, we tried a few different dishes: • Chicken 65 Biryani: The chicken was cooked well, nicely marinated, and had good flavor. However, the biryani rice seemed reheated and not as fresh as expected, which was disappointing. • Non-Vegetarian Naan Thali Set: The naan bread was freshly made to order and delicious. The chicken curry was decent, though it didn’t quite meet expectations, and the butter chicken had a strange taste that we didn’t enjoy. • Vegetarian Naan Thali Set: Again, the naan was fresh and soft. The paneer curry was flavorful and enjoyable, but the cauliflower curry lacked taste and could have been better.
On the service side, the FOH staff were very good – friendly and attentive with quick service, which we appreciated. However, there was one person at the till (possibly the manager) who seemed disengaged. During our entire visit, he didn’t smile once and spoke to customers in a rude manner, which left a negative impression. For a well-established restaurant like Top In Town, customer service and hospitality are just as important as food quality, so this is something management should address.
Overall, our experience was a mix of positives and areas for improvement. The restaurant looks great after the renovation, the naan and some curries were enjoyable, and the staff (apart from the manager) were welcoming. However, the inconsistency in food quality and lack of customer friendliness from management impacted our visit. If these issues are taken into consideration, we would be happy to return...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Top in Town, a delightful restaurant located in Mount Gravett, Brisbane. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for a memorable dining experience.
Top in Town offers a diverse mix of cuisines, ranging from authentic South Indian dishes to other regional specialties. What caught my attention was their newly opened Arabian Mandi restaurant, which serves a tantalizing array of dishes from Mediterranean cuisine. The variety of options ensured there was something for everyone, and each dish was prepared with precision and care.
Beyond the delicious food, what truly impressed me was the exceptional customer service. The staff at Top in Town went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcomed and attended to. Their attention to detail and genuine concern for the satisfaction of their patrons was evident in every interaction.
I must also commend the owner of the franchise, who is undeniably one of the coolest and most humble business entrepreneurs I’ve encountered in Brisbane. His success is no secret, as it is clear that he leads by example, treating both his staff and customers with kindness and respect.
Overall, my experience at Top in Town was nothing short of outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal served with a side of impeccable service.

Read moreRead my WHOLE EXPERIENCE before you go here!!! The food taste was good, especially starters & gravy. BUT there’s a catch, an unexpected drawback! 1.) After eating the food, it felt like food was floating in the throat and there’s a sense of nausea & vomitting. Had very bad stomach upset in next few hours. 2.) Too much of Red Food colouring used in all starters and gravy! 3.) I think they had used palm oil/vegetable oil/ vanaspati to make biriyani - the chicken biriyani was stuck to the throat!!! And wasn’t getting digested for very long time! This only happens when cheapest quality fatty oil is used in biriyani! 4.) Rude staffs non responsive behaviour - we asked for something, they didn’t respond. They don’t even come to your table to take orders or to provide takeaway boxes. You need to get up every single time with food in your hands & go to the counter to ask for help! They only come to your table to place the food you ordered and leave immediately. 5.) I don’t know if it’s a disadvantage but they provide cheap plastic spoons/ fork to eat your food at the table. Usually restaurants provide good silver or metal cutlery when it’s not a take away! 6.) If you worry about your gut health, don’t go here! Eat somewhere else. Stomach upset, nausea...
