Before the redevelopment of the food court, Excellent Kitchen was the best food outlet there was in the older food court with excellent customer service, great and diverse selection of meals and top value for money. Now, whether it is because of new ownership, while the food isn't bad, it definitely does not stand out. Customer Service is absolutely disgusting. On Thursday, 26 May 2022, I ordered a simple dumpling soup. Only after I had paid was then told the wait was 15 minutes. After nearly 25 minutes of waiting, for a simple stock dumpling soup, I asked for a refund, which was ignored. Miraculously, the server went into the kitchen and appeared seconds later with my soup. When I asked what took so long, I got a very pathetic noncommittal sorry and she couldn't even look at me when speaking. I was amazed at the surrounding support I actually got from other customers also so my experience isn't unique and obviously a common occurrence. For average tasting meals, the grief isn't worth it. BTW. Another food shop there offers the same type of meal cheaper with a minimal delay in service. We eat in the food court at least weekly, if not more. This has happened previously but I decided to give them another try because of fond memories from the previous experiences from the shop in the...

Located in one of the back corners of the Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown food court, this place offers a variety of items from their menu (including a separate list of vegetarian options), or choose your own selection from the hot bar. I opted for the 2 meat + 2 veg for $11, which I thought was quite good value. A few of the items were out of stock, but there was enough remaining variety to choose from. Not sure why but only half of the items were labelled. Anyways portion was decent, with enough for me to share with my son, factoring in some extra items.
The extras were a number of pastry/baked items they had on display, which gave the meal some yum cha feels. Pretty happy with all the choices and would definitely return here when I'm seeking a feed in this centre.
My order: choose your own lunch special ($11) with roasted salted chicken, steam fish, omelette, tofu egg tart, $2 sesame ball with red bean paste, $1.80 salty egg puff with lotus seed, $2 glutinous pork dumpling, $1.80 BBQ...
Read moreFood is decent, price is ok. Service can be much better. They don't know how to reject people nicely when the shop is closing. And when my order is here they called for 26 instead of 36 and then say things like we are closing already (we need you to collect your food faster.)
And then after me there were people who ordered noodle soup in bowls. (So much for closing shop already) And I spot the staff rushing the people to quickly finish so they can close the shop. I mean if you are going to close, just give it in takeout containers. Why ask if we want takeaway or eat here nearing closing time.
Or remove the menu right in front of the customer when a customer is trying to order and then tell the person they are closing. Just say sorry...
