New to Brisbane ( from Sydney) and new to the area...the atmosphere is inviting. There's a lovely buzz in the air from tables being served the most amazing dishes and customers looking relaxed and enjoying their time at the Cafe. Dogs are a part of a family and to see them welcomed was a treat for us with our Shih-Tzu Thor ( who tells me this will become our new local because the park across is dog friendly too!). Walking through to the back, I was super impressed to see a garden of fresh items being grown for use at the Cafe.
The food absolutely amazing. The photos posted are the before because the after was just an empty plate ( as joked with the lovely person who came to clear our table ).
The service was second to none. I could tell that all of them have not only been trained with the exact same training and retained it, they each did it with their own style. From the young lad to the more mature one, they all politely asked " is this from the group before you or yours to clear" before assuming anything and simply walking around and clearing tables to look tidy. Each of them were a pleasure to interact with through our stay for breakfast.
Table numbers are not numbers. You'll see the picture with the coffee, it's an animal. And as I observed around the area everyone had a different animal...this was so unique and I left wondering..do they give you an animal to suit the interaction they have with you or its pot luck and we can learn something from the animal table number for the day 😊. ( AM sure it's...
Read moreSo I fell in love with a cafe today ❤️
Yeah, nah, not bad (actually bloody excellent thanks!)
Goodfolk cafe could not be more aptly named in my opinion. Having read a great review my friend and I decided to try this place today and we weren’t disappointed.
It feels like a wonderland, a treasure trove and I’m quite sure we don’t even know half of the magic after just one visit, so can’t wait to come back and explore more.
Heaps of adequate seating options both inside and out (with plenty of shade even on a balmy day like today), and stunning vistas everywhere I looked. I get very easily distracted (not a bad thing!) and this place ticked so many boxes for us.
With a chill and eclectic boho vibe and top tier service from each of the friendly staff we encountered, it is so lovely to visit a place for the first time and have this feeling of belonging. I am only upset that this was our first visit, but it certainly won’t be the last!
The gardens are gorgeous and there is so much rustic charm all around. We were instantly awed by the unique table numbers (golden spray painted animals instead of numbers, yo genius!)
The menu looks amazing, and while I had avo toast on this occasion, I cannot wait to sample my way through the other options.
This is a great space to bring family and friends - young children have plenty to explore and the numerous seating options provide for perfect lazy brunch or lunch, with great tunes to...
Read moreI'm afraid to post such a positive review of Goodfolk, because I don't want Brisbane's best kept brekky secret to get out! After moving to Brisbane a few years ago from Sydney, we stumbled across this cafe. And despite 5 house moves in that time, Goodfolk is still our Brisbane Brekky Go - To. The food is always delicious, beautifully presented in an understated way. We look forward to the seasonal menu tweaks and new dishes, meaning we are never bored with the offerings here. There is a big range of vegetarian and vegan breakfast options, where you don't feel like an after thought, but rather like the menu was designed by you. Portions are generous, and pricing very reasonable for what you get. If breakfast wasn't already your favourite meal of the day, Goodfolk will ensure it is!
Dish hot tips: Avo on toast - recommend you add on a poached egg. Everyone we bring here raves Goodfolked eggs - delicious alternative to the classic bacon and eggs, and delivers in every way. And you can make vegetarian by removing the speck. French toast - by far the most moreish, elegant sweet french toast I've had. With seasonal fruit adjustments, it's always a...
