Review: Smoked Paprika has always been one of my go-to cafes in bris but I hadn’t been in a while. We were greeted with friendly staff and asked where we would prefer to sit which is always nice. I decided on the Smoked Paprika Breakfast which came out promptly. I asked for the sauce to come out on the side and they were happy to accommodate. The portion size I thought was very good with a nice amount of tender beef goulash, two poached eggs and halloumi. A lot of their menu options comes with Turkish bread which was nice and soft. I thought all the flavours went very nicely together. Only sad thing was one of my eggs was hard and not gooey in the middle :( Of course had to get the Fried Mac and Cheese Balls as you don’t normally see this on a menu. These were a good size with a lovely crispy exterior and cheesy soft inside. It came with some bacon and eggs which was a good addition but I thought there could have been a slice of bread to soak up the egg as well. Loved the presentation of both dishes and would recommend visiting if you are in the area. Check...
Read moreI adore Smoked Paprika's Hungarian Goulash! It keeps me coming back for more. It comes with utterly delicious tender handmade spaetzle. They're a sort of hybrid between pasta and miniature dumplings made of plain white wheat dough, but that description just doesn't do justice to these simple but sensationallittle morsels. Unfortunately they're also a massive pain to make, and tricky too, so I really appreciate being able to treat myself to these tiny tasty tidbits so fresh and so easily alongside an excellent example of one of my all-time favourite foods. Smoked Paprika's Hungarian Goulash comes in a generous portion size. You can certainly eat it all in one sitting, but alternatively it can serve as two lighter meals. Share it if you like (if you can bear to part with any thst is), or if you need to keep some on hand for those all-too-frequent Goulash-related emergencies, it freezes and reheats like a dream.
Literally every single other dish I've tried has also been outstanding. You just can't go wrong here.
VERY worth mentioning: Without exception, staff have always been delightfully kind, friendly, accommodating, and touchingly helpful on the odd occasion when I've had cause to call the venue. I've only ever ordered delivery, but I couldn't possibly imagine the service in-house being anything other than stellar.
Enjoy! I know...
Read moreOne of the best brunch places I have been to and will def go back again if chances presented in the future. We ordered a lot that day and def too much for two people but we did absolutely enjoy everything. I ordered their special that day, beef stroganoff and it was out of this planet, def my favorite dish out of all the brunches I have ever had. The beef was so tender and the dress on the side was amazing. The pickled onion was just spot on and the acidity from the onion helped tone down the greasiness a bit, which made the whole dish even better. The pan fried mushrooms was equally yum and everything on the plate tasted right and not too much. My partner ordered a soy flat white and it was so lovely I had to order another one after having a sip but for some reason it was not as good as the first one. They did get super busy in the end but that shouldn’t be an excuse, and they should have maintained the consistency throughout. That’s why I’m giving them a 4. Besides the coffees, everything else was on point and cheesecake was great. But I personally don’t like no bake cheesecakes that much, it was...
