Really disappointed in the service/ownerās decision. Iāve been to Huskk a few times before and didnāt mind it. I booked Motherās Day breakfast for 8 people. However the day before Motherās Day, I received a phone call to say we could only stay for 1 hour as theyāre trying to fit more customers in. I found this to be extremely poor service and ridiculous as it meant I couldnāt book anywhere else due to late notice. We arrived to our booking, and the first thing the server said was āa reminder - you have one hourā. I immediately regretted following through with the booking because it set the mood. We ordered food and coffees within 5 minutes of sitting down, it then took 25 minutes for the food to come out. When we asked about the coffees, the server said they were busy and told us theyād be put in takeaway cups due to the delay (another server told us they ran out of mugs). The coffees were mixed up (servers didnāt know what coffee was which - some were lactose free). I was absolutely mortified. We then got another reminder at 45 minutes to leave in 10 minutes. We hadnāt even received one of the coffees by this time. It was just absolutely horrific and I canāt believe this decision was made. We spent a pretty large amount of money between 8 people here and got pushed out in 45 minutes - to be treated like that is ridiculous to me. It completely ruined the morning and neither of us will be returning...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHubby and I headed here for a quick Friday lunch last week. Itās a pleasant place to sit, light and airy, even though the passing traffic can be a bit loud at times. We did the Covid thing, were promptly given cold water and glasses, and quickly perused the menus. Hubby went up to the counter to order, and we were served in very good time. Drinks came out first; a smoothie with mango, banana and coconut for me, while hubby had a strawberry milkshake. Both drinks were fine, even though the smoothie base is not freshly made in the cafĆ©. Nevertheless it was refreshing, and I glowed with making a healthy choice. For eats, I chose Eggs Benny which comes with a potato and leek hash, poached eggs, bacon, greens and hollandaise. I found the greens (spinach?) a bit tough and unpalatable so left them on the plate. But the eggs were nicely runny, the bacon tasty and I really enjoyed the hash which was like a mash with some chunks of potato (but in a nice way). He had the vegan burrito, generously filled with beans, avo, tomato, and greens, along with chips and aioli. It also came with a salad of greens and radish, and a lime wedge. We enjoyed our meals, and I loved the potato hash, (and his chips). Happy to visit again, and try other items...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDespite the lovely morning and spacious balcony, the position alongside a busy roundabout prompted the indoor seating choice. Still, inside is light and spacious. There are tables, a bench with cushions, and stools by a bench that would also be suitable for standing. No table service, including for water. The creamy long black was much appreciated, it deserved to be served with the spoon. The menu? Iām not a frittata person (yet), and while the avocado sounded good the bagdad eggs was pretty much a no brainer. Middle eastern braised beef brisket, spiced lentils, fried eggs, tahini yoghurt, smoked almond crumb, flatbread. Totally lured in but nothing disappointed. Tender beef, fresh is what I thought of the eggs, lovely warming flavour to the lentils. It was easy to eat and everything fit together so well, even the almond crumb and garnish of coriander played their noticeable parts. In an effort to make a critique the coriander was a little funny to eat being served in one long stalk, and I found a few bits of carrot⦠these were not in the description, but they were delicious and I wanted more. Unfortunately, not really a local stop for me but some new menu options would certainly lure me back....
