Thai Chada is a fairly typical suburban Thai. The food is probably better than most of the local Thai places I've been to, and the prices are decent. There's a nice little patio area out the front where you can sit at tables in the breeze. Because Thai Chada is tucked away in the Grange there's a pleasant, local vibe and not much traffic around so the patio tables aren't subject to lots of traffic whooshing past which means you can easily have a conversation and enjoy your food.
I think the thing that I like best about Thai Chada is how dedicated the staff are. Whenever I go past (which is at least daily) and all the other restaurants in this little village are closed, Thai Chada is reliably open and keen to welcome you. It's nice to see a suburban restaurant willing to stay open on past 8:30pm and also on Monday nights, especially for those of us who don't finish work until late or prefer not to eat too early. Thai Chada's diligence extends beyond opening hours, too. The staff are so warm and helpful and always seem...
Read moreTerrible. Waitresses were rude and they didn't even check tables to serve customers. Took a while to get their attention on the table so ended up walking to a counter to ask for chili. Then while I was having a conversation with people while eating, a young boy looking waitress inturrupted and tried to grab unfinished plates while I was still eating. Staff were busy talking and laughing in the back of the kitchen rather than serving customers. This place has good reviews but I wonder why and how they got more than 4 stars on google! I heard a manager asking to his staff "did you bring curry pastes from thailand?" What!?! This is a restaurant and you are not making curry paste here? They obviously use factormade curry paste. Coconut rice and noodle dishes were way too sugary and it has funny texture. In the curry they probably didn't wash veges throughly so curry tasted like...
Read moreMost people have a local Thai restaurant, some good some bad, but we were pleased to discover ours is much better than average. Dinner with friends at Thai Chada on Saturday night was a great local experience. Attentive helpful service didn't mind us taking half an hour to chat and catch up before ordering. We had BYO white, so out came an ice bucket straight away. Our selection of starters were hot and delicious. For shared mains the winner was "Fish on Fire" - fried white fish with sweet chilli sauce, but all mains were tasty and generous. We regularly call on Thai Chada for takeaways, but our dining in experience was a fun reminder that we should eat...
