This Chinese restaurant in Toowong has gained popularity among locals. Having dined here multiple times, I must admit that the adapted Chinese cuisine offered falls short of my expectations. As someone who appreciates and enjoys preparing Chinese food myself, I believe I can create more flavorful and authentic dishes compared to what is served at this establishment. One aspect that left me underwhelmed is the restaurant's interior design, which appears rather plain and lacks any noteworthy elements that I can praise. While some may argue that simplicity can be appealing, I personally prefer a more visually stimulating environment when dining out. The ambiance of a restaurant can greatly enhance the overall dining experience, but unfortunately, this particular establishment did not leave a lasting impression in that regard. It's important to note that different people have varying preferences when it comes to Chinese cuisine. For those who enjoy American-style Chinese food, this restaurant may cater more to their tastes and expectations. However, as someone who appreciates traditional Chinese flavors and authentic cooking techniques, I found the dishes at this establishment to be lacking in depth and complexity. While this restaurant may not have met my personal expectations, it is essential to acknowledge that taste is subjective, and others may have different experiences and preferences. I encourage individuals who are fond of American-style Chinese food to give it a try and form their own opinion. In conclusion, this Chinese restaurant in Toowong may appeal to those seeking American-style Chinese cuisine, but it did not align with my personal taste and culinary preferences. The lackluster adaptation of Chinese dishes and plain interior design were factors that contributed to my underwhelming dining experiences. However, I believe that taste is subjective, and others may find enjoyment in the offerings and atmosphere of this establishment.

It's been some time since my last visit. The place looks a bit tired and was a touch understaffed but still functional. Everything indoors is booth style seating so groups bigger than 4 will mostly have to split because the aisles need to be kept clear for the robot waiter. This also makes using high chairs a bit tricky, cos the high chair occupies the space where the robot waiter will want to stop in order to deliver food... There's still some outdoor seating that can more easily accommodate larger groups. Ordering is online via QR code but both that option and the takeaway touchscreen kiosk unit have mandatory card surcharges. You can still place your order manually at the counter and pay cash. Self service water and chilli is available. The food came out fairly quickly and pricing is pretty attractive compared to most other restaurants. Taste wise I was reasonably happy with my meal for $15. Had a decent portion of my son's meal too (not pictured) cos he couldn't finish it. That left me pretty full. There's some pretty mixed reviews for this venue but my own experiences over the years have been more positive than not, so I'll keep this on the rotation.

Solid 3stars. Portions were good for the price and this was made and delivered really quickly. But this wasn’t as tasty as I remember. Cheap, fast, but compromise on taste. Might order again for nostalgia, but would probably opt for an independent Asian operator. We ordered: prawn toast, steamed dim sim, steamed green veg, xo char kway teow, salt and pepper calamari. $82 delivered. Other places served prawn toast portion twice the size for same price. 😞 Noodle and steam veg excellent. Dim Sims weren’t great, calamari was very bland and the bowl *looks* full, but had a layer of prawn cracker underneath. Surprised we needed to add salt!

Honestly the most terrible service I have ever received from a restaurant. I placed an order for takeaway at 6:15pm and had no choice to order via the website as no one answered the four phone calls made. This restaurant is continually understaffed, which I admit isn't the workers fault, but there is also no excuse for their lack of communication and customer service and their lies. I was given an allocated pick up time for 30mins after placing the order. We arrived 45mins after placing the order and it was plainly obvious it hadn't even been made yet. The server did not even acknowledge us, I had to wave to get his attention to explain I was waiting for a takeaway order. We gave him the order number and he said "no it's not ready yet, you have to wait longer." He did not ask what time we were allocated for pick up before going to walk away. We interjected and explained that we were told the order would be ready 15 minutes ago. He stopped and said oh and walked away into the kitchen. This was the last time he spoke to me and was obviously avoidant. Another female server came over 5-10 minutes later and said that we would have to wait another 5-10 minutes as one of the food items was still being made. It was just ridiculous. Another 5 minutes later we stopped her again, frustrated and hungry after waiting over an hour at this point. She said that they were still making the last food item and that they had issues with their online ordering system. It was obvious that they hadn't checked the online ordering system and therefore hadn't even started making our order when we had arrived 45mins after ordering. She then continued to lie after we said we had also called multiple times with no answer, saying "Oh what is your phone number? We tried to call you back." This was even more insulting as they clearly continued to lie to our faces. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for the slightest bit of customer service or acknowledgement. I would much rather travel more than half an hour than order from this restaurant down the road. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration and...

No staff at front counter to serve customers when we arrived. I didn't have the QR code app on my phone, eventually staff returned to front desk so I could obtain menu. Food came out to tables on auto robot instead of waitress? Didn't like that at all, felt very cold. The restaurant didn't look particularly clean. My friend's entree arrived late with their main meal. When I asked what ingredients were in a particular meal they had no idea, they even asked the chef and they had no idea either as my friend has an allergy to wheat? The waitress suggested I search online for ingredients? How can you cook food and not know what ingredients are in it? Is it packet food heated up? This is a health and safety violation as the chef is required by law to know what ingredients are in each dish. The meat was very poor quality, very gristly. The atmosphere wasn't the best. The cooks were not wearing hair nets or gloves which prevents contamination and I am sure it would be a health code violation. I then found a long dark hair in my food and had to pull it out of my mouth 🤢which is a deal breaker for me, not impressed and couldn't eat anything after that, I was so disgusted .The restaurant staff did apologise and refund my money back for that meal. Very disappointed with all aspects of this restaurant. Do not...
