Unlike most who’ve left reviews here unfortunately mine isn’t a positive one. Perhaps I was just unlucky.
I arrived at Pitch & Fork at 7:45am on Sunday morning, at which point three other tables were occupied. I advised the waitstaff that I’d like a table for two (brother hadn’t arrived at this point). I was directed to sit at a table in an area of the cafe that the waiter pointed to - duly sat at a small table in the general direction of outstretched arm. Waited for another ten minutes in which time the cafe filled quite quickly. No staff approached me during this period and I noticed that other tables, including those that had filled after I arrived, had water jugs and glasses. Waited some more, was asked to move to next table over so that my table could be used for larger reservation (none of that party had arrived at that point). Moved to next table over and was eventually brought two menus (explained again that I was waiting on a second person so two menus were left). Water and two glasses were also left shortly after. By this point I’d dealt with three different wait-staff, not including the girl who bustled back and forth with water and glasses for tables nearby who duly ignored me sitting at a bare table. There appeared to be no system at all in regard to which waiter/waitress served what table.
Some minutes later I was asked if I’d like to order coffee. Ordered a mug, which was served at least eight minutes later, just as my brother sat down (by now 8:08am). The waiter totally ignored this new arrival, and turned his back as my brother tried to get his attention.
We waited, I drank my coffee, no staff came near us for either my brother’s drink order or our food order.
We left at 8:15am. It shouldn’t take over half an hour to receive one coffee and for an order...
Read moreI come here to find peace and quiet and to reflect. In the midst of inner-city chaos stands a small rise with a memorial for Toowong's fallen soldiers, heroes every one. The park is not fantastic, not loaded with activities for kids or outdoor gym equipment for all. This is a memorial park that offers a place for peaceful contemplation and reflection on the sacrifice of our service personnel to uphold the values and beliefs of our nation and to protect the freedoms we so often take for granted. The commemorative path leading up the hill to the memorial is tastefully landscaped with information on...
Read moreThis gem of a shady , grassy oais on a hot summer day is just the ticket. Much larger than you first think with wide open grass spaces to explore. Minimal services , there were limited Barbecue facilities, shady tables and play equipment for children. Bathroom facilities also were thin on the ground and I only saw two examples.
That being said rathiscpark has a charm reserved for those who seek to investigate and i feel this is a very respectful way to remember our fallen...
