Such a gorgeous little Cafe in Toowong and definitely my new favourite spot to go to. The portions are good, are presented beautifully and delicious as well! Me and my friend decided to share the big breakfast and it was delicious. Bacon wasn't too fatty (I hate fatty bacon), Sausages were yum, egg was cooked perfectly how we asked for, Beetroot hummus on the side was SO GOOD as well! We also had a delicious poppyseed muffin that didn't taste artificial at all. It had little orange bits in it and was such a delicious natural flavour. The coffee tends to run on the bitter side, so If you're a bitter coffee fan, you'll love this place! The Berry tea is also super intense flavoured and yum! Would recommend a try for sure. I'll be coming back to try everything else. Service was great and quick as well. *added some more photos from other visits too!

Soo disappointing. Had the “Breakfast Bruschetta”. Menu mentions “a fresh mix of basil, onion and tomato” so I was expecting fresh basil. What came out was just diced tomato and onion with a bit of dried basil and some cheap Parmesan on toast (had the GF bread option, it usually comes with Turkish). Poached eggs were not runny. Everything lacked flavour. The GF bread was the most flavourful component on the plate and that’s saying something. My partner’s Vegan Big Breakfast was not quite as bad but very “meh”. The staff were very nice but the food was really quite terrible. Edible but not at all enjoyable. Note: my photo of the Breakfast Bruschetta is missing one forkful of the diced tomato and onion (because I ate a forkful before taking the pic). Apart from that, this an accurate photo of what arrived. So sad. 😔

La Grava is one of our local cafes. Recently they have added a new menu and Wednesday through Sunday they are a Thai restuarant. Hubby and I decided to try the thai food for a quick dinner and boy were we impressed. We had the pepper prawns and the green curry with steamed rice. Both options were absolutely delcious. The prawns were massive and had the most delicious gralicky pepper sambal that was caramelised. Highly highly recommend. Additionally, La Grava has started doing Bingsoo (a korean shaved milk ice dessert). We came here with our Son on a separate occasion just to try and can confirm that they are delicious. We tried the strawberries and cream, caramel, and oreo flavours. If you love Bingsoo or even just love dessert you will enjoy this.

La Grava has been the best part of my day today - and on balance, it's been a pretty damn good Friday. Overall Score: 9/10, 4.5 Stars

I found La Grava via FirstTable, and boy am I glad that I did. There are some places where you just can't quite put your finger on what makes everything so good, so you just have to talk about its brilliant 'atmosphere'. This is one of those places.

But if I had to guess what component parts had contributed the most to me walking away this evening with a big smile painted across my face, it was probably the welcoming service my brother and I received from the staff.

The gentleman who (I think?) was the manager served us tonight impeccably. I am not an easy customer by average standards - I'm picky and I'm particular, while simultaneously wishing to rely heavily on the recommendations of staff to determine what I eat. Well, he stepped up to the challenge, and he didn't miss, that's for sure.

In particular, the beef massman curry, paired exquisitely with some absolutely amazing roti, blew me away. Such a satisfying, satisfying taste. But everything we ate, all at his recommendation, was truly delicious.

There's only a little bit of constructive criticism I can offer, to be honest - they were out of sugar free soft drinks, which was a shame, and the main meal portion sizing was perhaps not quite as big as reviews would suggest, if you're a proper big-eater anyway (don't worry - the rest of you mere mortals will be fine).

But really, its hard fault La Grava otherwise. As I said, attentive and friendly staff, beautiful spot, great food, great atmosphere... what more can a human want.

To top it off, the gentleman was extremely kind and understanding at the end, when there was a mixup with what could and couldn't be discounted under first-table, and with no hesitation, he applied the discount to our dessert. That said, if you are visiting under firsttable, just be aware that they (firsttable) are potentially not very clear in their rules to customers and businesses, so make sure you double check with your server first before assuming you'll get the deal applied to something.

All in all though, what a fantastic night. Thanks so much to the team at La Grava for an amazing memory. It looks like all those positive reviews are...

Oh my goodness! This place is crazy good. In the daytime it’s a great little cafe with a nice menu and really amazing baked goods but a few nights a week, it turns into one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. The Thai green chicken curry was flavoursome and aromatic; the beef massaman was so tender it just fell off the bone. The crispy pork belly chef’s kiss while the coconut rice and pineapple fried rice almost didn’t touch the side on the way down lol. Our little one had some lovely chicken wings and had fun playing with the toy basket provided. Some of our party don’t handle the heat too well and they were able to adjust the levels to accommodate that. We seriously didn’t think we had room for another morsel until we discovered the shaved ice desserts. Absolutely wonderful this winter evening but I can’t imagine how perfectly they’d hit the spot in summer. The staff were friendly and attentive, the service was quick and efficient. Will definitely return. An excellent experience. Couldn’t quite believe we were on the streets of Toowong. Look for the big red Hua Hin sign. I realised that my hubby and I actually holidayed there (3 hours south of Bangkok) nearly 40 years ago. Such happy memories and marvellous food to share with loved ones. Will definitely be...

So i was here the past weekend, Sat, and had a great experience. Being a foodie and coffee enthusiast, we like trying new cafes and venues. Coffee here was great, had a good texture to it. Good temperature to it too. Food was absolutely amazing, my partner loved her pancakes, and i loved my eggs Benedict. We do frequent a few cafes, and to be blatantly honest, we do rate your food pretty high. Hence the 5 🌟.

However, I don't want to sound off putting but 1 thing that put me off was the lanky waiter girl. I couldn't believe my eyes when i seen her pick up food leftovers from customers plates and put it in her mouth. Seriously?? I was GOBSMACKED and so was my partner. We've never seen that happen anywhere else before. Just thinking that's a bit unprofessional. Hopefully that was a one off thing. We will be back to try a new dish with family and friends though as besides that incident, we had a great experience.

Much Recommended, not the waiter girl's...
