Fantastic little spot in suburban Mitchelton. If this were on the southside I could definitely see myself being a regular. They've only been around for a year but it feels like a place run by seasoned veterans of the industry. There's a mix of covered and semi-open seating, along with a separate air conditioned room if that's more your thing. Or you can grab coffee/food to go from the walk up window and stand around outside for a chat. The menu has fewer than a dozen entries for mains but spans a variety of ingredients and flavours - good luck for the indecisive! I can only suggest planning on multiple visits to work through the list or bringing friends who share so you can try a few different dishes in the one sitting 😁 Doggie friends and little ones have their own section on the menu, and there’s a whole second page dedicated to drinks. Our order: * drunken croffle, $27 - with pickled Urban Valley mushroom, free range scrambled eggs & braised beef cheek * side of avocado, $5 * croque madame, $20 - smoked ham, sourdough, fried free range egg, mustard leek cream, manchego + egmont cheese * fish burger, $25 - crumbed white fish, M&A tartare + sherry vinegar on brioche^ * madeleines, $8 (4pc) - house made * mocha, $5 - Kasa Coffee ā€œImperialā€ blend * matcha frappe, $9 - Hokkaido soft serve + matcha, canned in house to order * apple juice, $6 - Wild One organic juice ^ we requested the sauce be served on the side, and they were out of brioche on the day we went so this was served on sourdough instead Loved the food, service, and the whole setup/vibe of the place. Definitely on my list for a return visit when I'm next headed to this side of town.

Beautiful decor and lovely atmosphere. Spacious and clean bathroom. Plus, really comfy chairs. Unfortunately, the customer service was poor. Stood in line for five minutes and was not greeted or acknowledged by the staff. I sat down while takeaway orders were being placed and went back up after. I took a seat when my family member arrived and the waitress bought over water and menus. We waited 10-15 minutes at the table for someone to take our order (with the waitress walking pasts multiple times) only to notice we go up and order. It would have been nice to be told that it’s order & pay at the counter. Especially if you don’t want to use the QR code on the table. Nevertheless, my coffee tasted great. My burger bun was dry, but other than that it tasted alright. My family member thoroughly enjoyed the truffle scrambled eggs. After reading other reviews about the customer service here, it’s a shame nothing has been done about it. I have worked in hospitality long-term and it’s detrimental to make customers feel welcome and warm. And you can do this easily by acknowledging them with a hello and a smile. It makes a world of a difference. There is more to amazing customer service though. I was taking notice of the staff and they didn’t act friendly or take the time to provide good customer service to majority of the customers. I’ve been to quite a few hospitality venues around Brisbane and this is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. What a shame. I will come back if I’m in the neighbourhood but I won’t be driving 30+ minutes again.

I recently visited Mitch & Antler, a popular spot in Mitchelton. Arriving at 12:00, we found no available tables and had to leave our name and wait on the footpath. We noticed that people who had finished their meals were asked to move on to free up tables, which felt a bit rushed. We had planned to try the footlong cookie after seeing it on Facebook, but unfortunately, it was sold out. We settled for mini cookies with similar toppings, which were a decent substitute. One male staff member was very polite and had a smile on his face the whole time, but the rest of the staff seemed quite miserable. The food service was slow, and our order, placed via the QR code on the table, seemed to have been allocated to another table. We had to remind the staff about our milkshakes, which didn’t arrive until we were almost finished with our food. Despite these issues, the main meals at other tables looked large and refreshing, making me want to return to try them. I also appreciated that the cafe is dog-friendly, offering puppy ice cream (though it was sold out) and pupichinos. Overall, the atmosphere could be amazing if it were more organized and had more seating. I hope to see improvements in these areas on my next visit.

After seeing the delicious coffee and food pics posted on social media I was excited to come and experience Mitch and Antler for myself.

I visited the cafe with my husband today with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the ambiance and decor were modern and relaxing, the service I received was anything but. From the moment I walked in, it felt like a countdown had begun.

After arriving at the cafe we didn't find anything to our taste on their winter menu, which is absolutely OK and not the cause of my poor experience or rating. We decided instead to have a coffee and my husband ordered something small to eat to see him through until lunch time. We order at 9:30am and received our coffees at approximately 9:50am, shortly followed by the food my husband ordered 5 mins later. At 10:05am whilst still half way through drinking my coffee a staff member (assuming manager) approached our table to advise that they had 1 hour sittings, in no uncertain terms telling us to hurry up and leave as they had other patrons waiting for tables. After being there for no more than 40 mins and having our food and drink for only 10-15mins.

It's disheartening when a cafe sacrifices quality and customer satisfaction for the sake of efficiency. I believe that the true essence of a cafe experience lies in the ability to linger, enjoy, and unwind. Unfortunately, that essence was lost during my visit. I hope that the management takes note of this feedback and considers striking a better balance between timely service and allowing customers to genuinely enjoy their time at the cafe.

Although unfortunately this experience has ruined my impression of the establishment and I won't...

The highs were high but the lows were low. Starting with the good stuff, the coffee was incredible, and the person who served us our food was very lovely. I got the pancakes and they were tasty, the portion sizes good. Also there’s a bathroom on site and it’s a dog friendly venue. Yay!

Unfortunately when my trio arrived all empty tables were covered in plates. We sat for a while and no one came out to clear them. When I went in to get attention and ask for our table to be cleared, I was ignored by the serving guys for ages until I eventually asked the barista if they could please ask someone to clear our table off and told them exactly where we were sitting. She was lovely and tried to get the servers attention but he so ignored her. Following this all empty tables were cleared and I even waved to the server and he ignored me again and didn’t clear our table. It wasn’t until a more senior member of staff eventually came outside a full 10 minutes after I’d asked for the table to be cleared that they kindly took away the stacks of dirty plates from the previous customers. I think this place has good food, great coffee, and a good atmosphere. But I did feel ignored and like our group was asking too much just to be acknowledged by the two young server guys. I understand it was a busy Saturday, but it would have been a benefit to say something like ā€œI’m sorry I will get to your table in about 10 minutesā€ instead of avoiding eye contact and not saying a word to us. I’d go back just for that lovely coffee but not sure about dining in. Also the baked beans side and the crumble on the pancakes weren’t good I’m...
