Mucho Mexicano — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I'm giving 1 star purely for the nice staff (waiter/waitress). The food was just SO bad I couldn't eat it and sent it back, not even a trace of 'Mexican' flavour. I swear it must come out of freezer bags and be thrown in the microwave or something. The beef cheek enchilada I ordered was NOT an enchilada at all, not even a little bit (usually with enchiladas the tortilla is rolled completely around the filling like an open ended burrito, and covered in sauce and grilled with a little cheese on top)........ what I got was a dollop of flavourless meat 'mush' (mushy like baby food) sitting on top of the tiniest tortilla bread i've ever seen (barely the size of a Pikelet) served in a mini skillet with the BLANDEST rice on the side. So essentially like an open sandwich with the tiniest tortilla. There wasn't even the tiniest hint of 'Mexican' seasoning, not even a little sprinkle of chopped herbs or sprig of coriander to garnish, no salsa verde, no pico de gallo, no guacamole, no sour cream NOTHING, no trace of Mexican flavour in the 'meat mush' either (just exactly how you'd expect unseasoned microwaved meat would taste).

The fajitas I saw coming out of the Kitchen going to other tables were also being served in the same teeny tiny snack sized tortillas. I sent my meal back and just paid for 2 ginger beers and some terrible 'daggle dog' battered jalapeno poppers (which I also couldn't eat) and it came to $40!!!!!. The first ginger beer I ordered was actually a $12 glass full of crushed ice with about 30ml of ginger...

This is the second time we’ve ever been to this restaurant chain (other time was Southbank). We didn’t enjoy the food the first time but it has been a few years so thought let’s give it another go, it always seems busy ish.

But.. pretty average Mexican restaurant. If you want nicer Mexican food go a few doors down to Cartel del Taco or somewhere else.

The worst part… The Service we received was very disappointing!!

We had the lunch special - Burrito and Beer for $25 - asked for a tap beer with the waitress in order to have this special. As per the sign on the table.

Another waitress (short hair with leg tattoos, aggressive and never smiles) arrives with a can of beer.

When we say we ordered a tap beer she told us VERY AGGRESSIVELY that we didn’t and that if we wanted tap beer then we should specify when ordering it.

Strange when she wasn’t even there when the order was placed.

She was extremely rude but not only that, they have multiple beers available so why did she decide to bring us the red can of beer instead of any of the other bottled or canned beers?! Seems odd to bring someone a random beer. If they were unsure, good customer service would be to walk a few metres and verify with the diner.

Anyway, will never go back, primarily because of her!! Go elsewhere where the food is better and customer service matters.

Hi there, we visited Mucho Mexicano last night as we were quite excited by the 'All you can eat' with a drink purchase for $25 dollars we saw advertised on Tiktok. We felt very misled by this advert, as the server had let us know upon arrival that it isnt all you can eat and that you could only get 3 per each $25 dollars spent plus a purchase of a drink.

My partner ended up spending $50 dollars on 6 tacos on himself as he was still hungry by the first round, plus drinks. Personally felt like this was a way to get customers to the door. We don't feel that was value for money and were sad to leave hungry, especially with the number of great reviews you have on here, saying that they ate more than three and that this was a budget friendly deal.

In addition, the servers were quite nice and lovely but were not attentive. 4 of us were sat at a smaller table than expected and at one point, my friend was holding some food in the air because we didn't have enough space.

I also paid $20 dollars for a margarita when you have a deal for $16 dollars on Mondays.

The food was very nice and enjoyable. However, we felt we wouldn't return because of these reasons and would love to get a refund due to...
