Hidden Gem: Pera Kitchen
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Pera Kitchen, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm, friendly smiles and exemplary service that made us feel right at home.
The highlight of our visit was their lahmacun—a dish so perfectly crafted it could rival any we’ve tasted in Turkiye. The thin, crispy dough was topped with a flavorful blend of fresh herbs, spices, and perfectly seasoned minced meat. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, enhanced by the fresh accompaniments of lemon and parsley.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere was reflective of Turkish culture. The attention to detail in the service was impeccable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and went out of their way to ensure our dining experience was perfect.

Read moreExperience Pera Kitchen Milton delivers an outstanding Turkish tavern experience, making it my top choice for authentic Turkish cuisine. The cabbage dishes and Ali Nazik are exceptional, reflecting the expertise of their chefs. The restaurant is impressively clean and well-organized, with staff displaying genuine empathy and attentiveness.
The gourmet experience is highlighted by their mastery of the chargrill, bringing out fantastic flavors in every bite. Given their popularity and quality, I wouldn’t be surprised if they need a bigger place in six months. Pera Kitchen Milton is a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious and authentic Turkish food! A standout feature is their bold decision to place the kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. Watching the chefs cook my meal right in front of me added an exciting, interactive element to my dining experience—a challenge for most restaurants, but Pera Kitchen Milton handles...
Read moreWe popped in after a football game and had one of the best meals I have eaten in Brisbane. I spend a lot of time in Turkey and know the food well and this was amongst the best Turkish food I have eaten in 25 years. Really.
The ezme and freshly cooked bread were sublime, the roast cali dish, octopus, pide, Ali Nazik and kofte just wonderful. I was uncertain what I liked best, but the Ali Nazik just beat the kofte. The availability of Tekirdag raki also enhanced the meal!
After coffee and home made lokum - again, just perfect - we were asked by the chef to try a new desert he was trialing - poached quince with honey/pistachio cream. Words are not enough.
What a lovely surprise and a true, skilful expression of Turkish cuisine at its best. The chef clearly cares about his craft and practiced it in full view and with quiet confidence. Many selams and health to...
