This market is fabulous for many reasons and has a vibrant pulse! There are loads of fresh produce stalls with reasonable prices, and some have the farmer serving you directly. You'll find baked goods with many bread varieties, meat and seafood, olives, interesting food stalls for a snack, breakfast or lunch, and fantastic coffee (Ricochet my personal favourite but all are good). You can get freshly cut flowers from the farmer with tips on how to prolong their life! Apart from food, there is also an eclectic range of items on offer, such as hand made jewellery, casual cotton dresses, silk scarves, home made cakes and sweets (the Greek desserts are delicious!), plants etc. There is also usually one or two buskers, solo singers/guitarists, in different spots in the market, including under the huge fig trees, and they are consistently good. Many people sit and listen, forming a little audience, taking in the relaxing chilled vibe. Park in nearby streets or enter the market for cheap parking, the money goes to support the sports club next to the park. Go there hungry.

I'll try to be as polite as possible.. sound fair..? First impression.. not good. Especially when you're greeted by Gandalf the Grey as gatekeeper (the elderly lady resembling a hobo charging $5 for parking) without receipt nor any ID.. (She had a Green Mazda 2 Rego 320YRR.. in case she's not representing the markets). None the less I didn't want to make a scene with a child in the car. Many food options, but hygiene is some sort of non existent thing. Many (if not most) wore gloves but it seems that gloves are for hand protection rather than food hygiene.. touching everything, handles, gazebo poles, scratching yourself, handing money and then food.. that's more of a deterrent if nothing else. Managed to find a decent somewhat clean stand, quick bite to eat and we didn't hang around. Not much seating but if you're walking it's a non issue. Large field to spread a blanket on if you wish. Lots of fruit and vege vendors, some seem genuine farmer produce other are just reseller. Lots of nick nacks, ointments and crafts. Will I visit again.. ? Probably not.. no.. sorry.. I take that back.. a definite no, I won't be visiting again.

These markets are great! There is tons of variety with fresh food, delicious takeaway meals, and right on the Brisbane River. Parents and carers be aware, do not bring a pram. The ground is uneven, and it gets really packed. So if you're on wheels, maybe come super early before the crowds hit. If you do have mobility issues or are with someone who does, be aware that this may not be the place for a relaxed outing. If you just want to enjoy a sunny weekend vibe, have something delicious to eat and leave with some seriously great quality fresh food and maybe a few clothing items do pop in. It's a nice way to spend the morning if you don't mind a bustling crowd. They have the usual candles, honey, nik naks and herbal tea as well as hand churned butter and fresh French sticks type of stalls so bring a basket or a bag or two for some potentially unplanned extra goodies. I have seen a couple of people bring their fur babies, but once again, its not such a nice day for them with so many people bustling about.

The variety of food there is, from Japanese to Mexican, is truly amazing. Prices are varied, but are generally modest. There are also jewelery, fresh honey, juice drinks (smoothies and mixes), yogurt and clothes. The people there are also very nice, and often give you eye contact. It is dog friendly as well, so you could bring your dogs out for excellent food or to the chillaxing lush green grass field nearby. During 12pm - 2pm the roads can be a bit hectic as many people show up to get food. Roads get too narrow in some places and can struggle to "congest" people. This can be quite problematic if you are clustrophobic (like me) or just dislike places with many people. Even if it is dog friendly, dog owners can still have diffuculties taking care of their dogs. Grass fields can become littered and filled with too many people. However, overall i'd say it's pretty good: 8/10.

This market is arguably one of the best farmer's markets in close proximity to Brisbane city. It operates every Saturday for a lengthy duration from 6am to 2pm. In contrast to Milton market, even if you arrive after midday, a plethora of options are still available, often with more discounts. For vegans, this market is a paradise, offering an extensive range of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and other products. However, for meat lovers, only a frozen meat vendor is available. Sadly, a seafood vendor disappeared due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the market has seen new vendors join in, such as a unique honey seller and a second-hand book seller. The cheerful one dollar vendor continues to shout from his fruit and vegetable booth, which is always the busiest. Visiting this market is an opportunity to experience the daily life and vibrant spirit of Brisbane.

West End Market is a popular community market located in the vibrant West End suburb of Brisbane, Australia. Known for its lively atmosphere and diverse offerings, the market is held every Saturday morning at Davies Park, attracting locals and visitors alike. The market features a wide array of stalls selling fresh produce, organic goods, artisanal products, handmade crafts, and international street food. It's a great place to experience the local culture, as you can find everything from farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to unique handcrafted items. Live music and entertainment often accompany the market, adding to the lively and relaxed vibe. It's not just a place for shopping but also a social hub where people gather to enjoy good food, support local vendors, and soak in the community spirit of West End.
