Schnitz Chermside — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Food was average, chips were great but order was not correct. Frustrating to order.

We ordered chips separately but the chips were provided on plate, seems like a minor detail but we aren't sure if the portion size is correct if they aren't served as ordered right?

Customer service was fine but irritating, lots of useless up-selling on membership, and membership details, etc. Didn't ask. Had to wait for the another person to order but it took ages because of the extra bloat up-selling dialogue, like come on, it should be a matter of asking if I want to hear more, not just straight monologuing???

If the owner is asking staff to monologue the customers, they need to go check themselves.

The food portion is small, so small compared to a place at Brisbane airport which does colossal sizes of schnitzel compared to this, but well worth it's price, and those guys pay for airport space rent, that's got to be more overhead than this place. To add insult to injury, the airport place didn't even specialize in schnitzels.

The chips however, were really nice and tasty, the only part I enjoyed, nicely seasoned and I would probably just buy a portion of chips if I had to revisit.

Fyi, no booking needed, plenty of seating available...

Second time trying Schnitz at Chermside.

Positives: Food is good, friendly customer service.

Downside’s on our two experiences are the following: Poor staff training in the POS system Staff confidence is low. There seams to be no structure in the restaurant from the initial greeting, getting seated, advised how to order online via the QR code but wanting menus. Orders not being read back to the customer and when prompted noticing the person had missed extra’s or missed requests for food or drinks. For the price, could be more chicken it’s roughly the size of a chicken breast chopped into 3 slices. I waited 35minutes for our food that never came because the order was never sent to the kitchen. When questioned what happened, no one could find the order and my group had to wait another 15minutes for our food. When it was bought out, missing extra’s that I’d paid for. Restaurant Manager/s or supervisors need to be more accountable for the poor service as we won’t be going back to the Chermside Schnitz and will go the North-lakes...

I love Schnitz food and quality, but am always let down by the service at this venue. After some previous mixed experience, on my latest visit, despite ordering via the QR code which makes it quite difficult to get wrong, the staff member brought out our order incorrectly 3 times. Bringing one correct and one wrong meal destined for another table. Bringing the drinks, had one drink incorrect which I politely asked for it to be swapped, he then came back 1 minute later with the same incorrect drink. He then finally brought the correct one over, I even had to double check I ordered it right. They then forgot to bring the $2 sauce we ordered, noticing he had dropped one in the middle of the walkway that never got picked up despite walking over for 15 minutes. Will prefer other venues. This place is always quite empty compared to other venues next door and I see why, the decor is also a bit dated and dirty on the walls which could...
