Archer Coffee and Bagels (Chermside) — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Horrible. Don’t go there if you have any food restrictions. The place didn’t train their staff to accommodate allergy requests. Had a very strange experience in this place. Went there to get a bagel for my toddler who is allergic to dairy, so the conversation with their team member made my brain explode. -do you have dairy free options? -here is the list of ingredients (shows ingredients without any mentioning of dairy in the list) our gluten free is not vegan. -sorry? I don’t need gluten free, I just need a regular bagel dairy free. -(gives me a look “are you stupid, lady?) yes, I understand but see here in gluten free we have egg. Me still confused: yes but I don’t see any dairy in any of your ingredient list gluten or non gluten free options, do you use dairy products or not? Dairy is butter, cheese, milk etc. -I think we use butter (leaves to another room). I’m waiting assuming she went to check with the kitchen staff. The person returns and starts talking to another customers totally ignoring me and my child. I don’t think I’ve ever had a more bizarre interaction anywhere even in the counties where people didn’t speak the same...

I visited 3 times on my short stay in Chermside, resulting in 3 excellent strong piccolos. I could see from my observations that the team were constantly ensuring the coffees were dialled in to maintain their consistently. I was so impressed on my second visit, that the guy serving the tables came over to apologize mine was taking so long because the pour wasn't good enough and they wanted to get it right. When it arrived soon after, it came with a free coffee voucher (hence my third visit later). They new my style of coffee was very particular and they nailed it each time with rich strong brews. Pity they didn't have piccolo cups, but mine were spot on. This is a cafe for coffee as their main thing. Awesome...

To be honest, we didn’t like Archer from the get go, as my partner and I both thought the staff were too friendly and talkative but their coffee started to grow on us and eventually won us over. We frequent the spot in Chermside shopping center the most and really love grabbing a coffee from them whenever we go there. The staff now seem alright and I must say we have misjudged them and I apologize. As for their coffee, it has been fairly consistent. The flavor is not too intense, and very mutual. There have been a couple of times where it has made me wonder what happened to their coffee as it didn’t taste as nice as usual. But in general, it is good coffee. Always...
