Siam Sunset @ YG — Restaurant in Brisbane City

The decor and the waitstaff's beautiful uniforms and the ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful, however the food was not.

The menu is not exclusively Thai dishes, there is a healthy dab of Japanese and Chinese dishes available but my personal opinion is that they should concentrate on cooking the Thai dishes well, without the other confusion on the menu.

Awful food.

My fish cakes were so rubbery they would have bounced if I had dropped one on the floor.

And an hour later when I received my main meal of beef salad it was not only cold but the sauce served with it was inedible and my friend ordered a prawn noodle dish that came with one prawn and the same inedible dipping sauce and my 3rd friend (vegetarian) tried to eat vegetables cooked in a truckload of garlic.

we were all really looking forward to trying this restaurant so the food was a major disappointment & my food from this "restaurant" has been repeating on me for the past 2 days (not in a good way)

I only ate a couple of bites from my main course and my friends main meals also went back to the kitchen untouched.

We dined as a table of 14 on a Thursday night to celebrate a family birthday! The entres were quick to be delivered and very enjoyable however that's about all that went right from there! It appeared the restaurant's focus was on uber eats rather than our table! We had to gain the waiters attention to get drinks each time and to order the mains! The kids mains were served quickly however no rice (we were not advised rice did not accompany the meals and the waitor did not offer it) our order for Mains somehow lost it's way between the table and the kitchen...it was over an hour before this was picked up by the owner! Mains eventually came out minus the charcoal chicken which appeared too difficult to cook???? Overall the food was excellent but the service was appauling! We've been going to Siam Sunset for quite awhile, so excited when they moved.. The food has been really awesome in the early days but in the recent days, the food has been ordinary. I've been looking for that exceptional Thai restaurant and you are not giving me that. Last time we were there it was a Monday and honestly the place was pumping. The lovely girl serving us on the floor was working very hard but was not able to suggest chef specials. The barramundi and apple fish dish was dry. The pork dish we had was so dry, came with lettuce leaves ... however the Massaging beef was amazing. So very tender and delicious. I think we might take time out and try somewhere else and come back in a few months.

It really is an excellent neighbourhood restaurant but I do feel you need to cook more authentically to excite...
