Beautiful spot on the Lake

The view is amazing, this is the main reason I booked a table at this establishment and I wasn’t disappointed. However I wish there was more detail about this place available online so I could have done a bit more research and seen that this place is more like a coffee cart with seating and not an actual cafe. We chose to meet here based on the reviews and photos that had been posted on FB and google search. The online pictures give the impression there’s a full menu but there’s not. At the time I was looking I thought it best to book a table but couldn’t find a phone number so I FB messaged and got a reply straight away to say they could do that. On the morning we turned up I said I had booked a table for 5 and the girl just pointed to any one of the tables as if to say - we don’t take bookings just grab a table. There is no kitchen so if you want big breakfast or eggs bene, French toast and hash browns might pay to try elsewhere. They do however have a good selection of toasties (chicken curry $9), some cabinet food such as pastries a Açai breakfast bowl ($14) and smoothies. This place would be perfect on a nice sunny day but when we went it was cold and wet outside so we were expecting an indoor setting only to find it’s set up on a patio and with plastic drop down blinds. There were a couple of heaters on the wall that helped a bit but it’s outdoors so if you’re looking for cosy this place isn’t it. Overall it didn’t suit the needs for our group however great for locals from the neighbourhood, and those hitting their steps around the lake with their four-legged friend - pet friendly with dog...

LAKE SETTING This amazing cafe is situated on the deck of the Federation style multi-tennant building at the intersection of Forest Lake Boulevard and The Esplanade. PARKING There is plenty of parking just outside and a secondary carpark just 50 metres down the road. That makes it a really convenient place to meet up with others while you sit in the covered verandah admiring the lake view as you drink your espresso style coffee. DOG FRIENDLY And being on an external deck the owners welcome people and their dogs who are walking around the lake. Ordered 2 takeaway coffees and waited 25 mins. No pre warning about wait time or apoligy for waiting just "Thanks for waiting". Lg Flat white was only 3/4 full, rest was foam with burnt tasting milk and the Med Long Black was honestly one of the most awful tasting coffees i have had in years but to make matters worse the cup also started to fall apart and leak before it was cool enough to even take a sip. I'm a Barista myself so I understand that sometimes there can be a wait due to busy times, but good customer service will give you a heads up so you can decide if you are able to wait or not.
