The Coffee Club — Restaurant in Brisbane City

We went for some breakfast this morning (Friday 22/09/17). My mug of coffee was too weak in flavour for my liking (I like full-strength coffee) but the ham, tomato and cheese croissant was filling and fresh. I asked for water and was handed chilled water from behind the counter. Others at my table said the milkshakes were good. Staff were professional, pleasant and efficient. It's great to see staff working so well and creating such a good vibe. EDIT: We visited again (Saturday 06/06/20) and experience was not as good. We were brought coffees in take-away cups to our table. Coffee reminded me of $1 petrol-station coffee - same take-away styled cups and watery - nothing like a proper cafe coffee. My ham, tomato and cheese croissant had no tomato. They fixed it by stuffing some tomato slices in but it looked bad, slices half hanging out of the croissant. I had to repack my croissant before eating. Bacon, eggs, mushrooms on toast came to about $20-$21 which seemed a bit pricey. I will not go back again and will seek out...

We went there for Mothers Day lunch today. I called on Wednesday to book a table to be told they weren't taking bookings. I thought I'd call again this morning to check and they in fact were taking bookings so we were lucky to get a table. There were 9 of us and despite placing 2 smaller orders for the table... mine came out on its own first, followed 10 mins later by 2 other meals, then another 4 meals. We had to remind them we were still waiting on 2 meals. One came put but my mum who ordered with the first 3 meals was still waiting 30 mins for a toasted sandwich... not hard to make. By this stage 3 of us had finished our meals. No apology or offer of a discount or free meal for the stuff up. We then heard people being told there was an hour and half wait for food. There were hardly any customers so no idea why it would take that long. They seriously need to look into customer service because I wouldn't be...

Haven't been here for years and wanted to go for my birthday for a nice brekky. Drinks were good and 2 of the meals were decent..but in my meal found something that looked like a hair on my mushrooms... told the waitress and she apologised straight away and brought the meal to one of the cooks, the cook said "it's not hair it's from the mushroom"...and the poor waitress had to bring it back to me repeating what the cook said. You could tell she was very uncomfortable as would anyone be in that situation..I was more unhappy at the fact the cook didn't even offer to cook a new batch of mushrooms, just got the meal given back to me but didn't I end up finishing off the meal (if it looks like a hair then maybe just try to rectify it so the customer can actually eat the food without feeling sick).. not sure if it has the same owners as as previous years but service from kitchen has...
