Me, my partner and our son went to the Codfather with our last twenty dollars thinking we're going to get a beautiful dinner, but were hugely disappointed when we opened our feed to way overcooked chips and scallops which was drowned in chicken salt... You could clearly see that they did this on purpose because of our last visit when we had an altercation with there youngest son being very arrogant and rude... I don't wanna make accusations but in my eyes it was clearly the way he was being all of a sudden rude and a cheeky little smirk was because of the colour of my skin... I'm not racist, I just tell it how it is... The Codfather use to be my childhood place to get fish and chips, now it reminds me of the over salted, crispy half burnt scallops and chips . .. Sorry to the Codfather guy who has been there for years, but your son's are ruining your business... This is definitely the last time we're going there ..

In every way a classic fish n chips joint this family business is great and the young man who takes my order speaks with a powerful voice indeed! The food is always great and I sense a fun energy in the space. I've given a lower rating for atmosphere only due to the restaurant facing onto Stafford Road. Perhaps some plants or even some laminate boards bolted onto the support struts to block out the traffic, some amber lights and an old radio and bobs your uncle you've got a top quality hang out with great food! In anycase I recommend the Cod Father!

I ordered pack and got a battered fish, chips and a drink and I also ordered 2x scallops. The fish was given to me crumbed but they replaced it quickly and were apologetic. Which was nice until I ate the rest. The scallops were overcooked and dry and then I took a bite of fish and there were fish bones stabbed my mouth and made me bleed and was quite painful! I was too scared to eat the rest of the fish but the chips were good. *edit. I called to tell them and the manager told me that the fish doesn’t have bones and then hung up on me

The customer service and time schedule at this place is HORRIBLE! Decided to get dinner for my family, was told it would be a 45 minute wait time. Arrived 50 mins later to find they hadn’t even started making our food. We sat in the store for 30 minutes watching them continuously hand off food to uber eats only to be told that they handed off our burger to one of the delivery guys and because they were closing they weren’t going to make another one. They continued to hand us our gravy cold and told us to heat it up. Horrible service. I really liked this place but tonight showed they don’t care about customers, only deliveries. If i could give a zero i would this place used to be the best in town but since seems to have been bought out by scam artist owners I ordered 10 bucks worth of chips and 3 scollops and a cod and this is what i got the chips didnt even fill the $6 large chips box even tho i ordered $10 worth and the large gravy was a small l had to tell the dude to give me my change he was going to take it when i asked if this was my order as it seemed small he was like yep mate thats yours worst place ever if you previously ate here do not come back orignal owners need...
