King Of The Wings — Restaurant in Brisbane City

We have been regulars since 2021, however over the last year, the quality and consistency has dropped significantly to the point we now choose elsewhere.

I haven't reviewed previously and have been debating whether to post, however I will mitigate any potential owner responses here: Did we tell the staff? No, the quality issues has been over multiple visits where we got all legs, wrong flavours that all tasted alike, or poor quality chicken. We ordered takeaway and gave the benefit of the doubt the first couple of times, so we never discovered until we got home. Our visits are often a couple of months apart as we have an abundance of great options nearby! Slow service. Even after receiving the text saying our order is ready, it's usually a 15+ minute wait. I love to see a busy local business, however this has been a trend for 4 years. The team are super lovely, however slow service combined with difficulty ordering due to their phone isn't a great combination. We usually have to place multiple phone calls. Was it a busy day? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I know we can't see the dockets in the kitchen as the owner responded to another review, however these issues have been consistent - not just one occasion.

Lastly, I will say that your team are lovely, however the way you respond to Google reviews seems to be to blame the customer. This is why customers often don't address these reviews in person or via email.

We haven't been back after giving multiple chances, but I hope our feedback is...

🟢 5-Star Experience at King of the Wings – Stafford, Brisbane

I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages, and it absolutely lived up to the hype!

🛎️ Service: From the moment we arrived, the team was fantastic. We were greeted at the door and offered seating options — indoors, outdoors, or down a cool little alley space. Menus arrived promptly, and we were given time to choose without pressure. The staff were friendly and attentive the whole time. Special shout-out to the lovely lady who served us and even popped out to check in on how we were going.

🍗 Wings & Mains:

• Boneless Wings: Half Bee Sting (sweet chilli), half BBQ — the BBQ was a standout. • Traditional Wings with Bones: Half Buffalo, half Portuguese — the Portuguese flavour stole the show! • Chicken Burger: Came with chips, but I wish there’d been an option to swap them for sweet potato fries. The sweet potato chips we ordered separately were excellent — especially with the blue cheese dipping sauce (a highlight!) and tomato sauce.

🥤 Drinks: Two soft drinks, and between the two of us we had more food than we could finish — they kindly offered doggy bags for the leftovers.

🍖 Extras: The ribs, bubble tea, and desserts looked amazing — would be great if they were available for delivery online too!

💸 Price: $78.27 for two, with generous portions and plenty of leftovers.

🌟 Overall: Great food, exceptional service, relaxed vibe. Will definitely be back — and I’m already thinking about those Portuguese...

This place is awesome, recently moved to the area and have been checking out all the local spots and this has been the best by far. The food is fantastic, we got 4 different flavoured wings and each was scrumptious. Sometimes I get scared by wing places as sometimes wings are a bit iffy but I genuinely enjoyed all of the wings and so did my partner. We also got the garlic chicken rice (recommended by alex) as well as the key lime pie (recommended by another lovely server but we didn’t grab her name!) and everything was SO good and amazingly priced! We ended up treating ourselves a bit and got a beer tower and the way it was served to us was fantastic, the staff also made sure they were on the ball with adding ice to the tower once we got halfway! Cant leave a review without mentioning the staff. Every single person we spoke to was incredible. Honestly customer service off the charts, they were not only fast and efficient in their jobs, but brought such nice vibes with them as well! We were able to have some chats and also got told a brief history about King of the Wings :). Also just the atmosphere of the entire place is lovely! Would definitely say to sit outside (not to say inside isn’t great) but they have really great and comfy seating options and cozy lighting!

All in all a 10/10 experience, you can go there for cheap eats or splash out a bit, and have amazing service and food.
