Dined in for an early lunch, as well as buying some seafood on the way out. The freshest seafood, it was fantastic. The marinara was particularly good, with all of the seafood perfectly cooked - especially the bug and calamari which are very easy to over cook. Not raw, not dry, very juicy and perfect. The arancini was also good, and the kids enjoyed their sliders. The kids cheese burger party was very juicy as well, good to see they take care in even the smaller portions. The juice and ice cream extra also kept them little ones happy. Fish tacos also great. The king crab, oysters and octopus we got on the way out were also very good. Not the cheapest (the sashimi was a bit pricey but looked fresh), but the quality is certainly there. The staff are all very friendly and professional. They appear cross-trained to be in the kitchen or the store side depending on demand at the time which is super efficient, and is satisfying to watch from the restaurant as they help where needed most. The noise from the store side is quite well isolated on the restaurant side, so it's pretty quiet even when full of customers. Plenty of parking on site and great signage to turn in from the road when traveling from East to West, can't miss it. Note when exiting the carpark it's a no right turn which speeds up the exit was well. Highly recommended, worth the trip across town.

Bought a kilo of their cooked XL Tiger Prawns yesterday and a dozen Coffin Bay Oysters. The server was helpful enough and placed a bag of ice in with the seafood to keep it cool for the short ride home. This was meant to be dinner for the wife and myself but unfortunately upon opening the prawn bag, they absolutely stunk. I tried eating one against my better judgement thinking maybe the smell had concentrated from being bagged, wrong call. I didn't stomach it well although not making me sick. The oysters however were absolutely fine. This whole thing is such a shame because I used to love this place. I work 100m away from there and would tell anyone who would listen about how good they are. I can't do that anymore because last time I was there I had a similar experience though not as bad. I just put it down to a one-off thing. At a premium price, I won't be taking the risk again with this place. I'm gutted by that. It is probably fine when you go during the major holidays and the stock has higher turnover. Your millage may vary. I reached out to them via email on their website but am yet to hear back from them unfortunately.

Came here with my friend to buy some seafood, and decided to get lunch here as well. We ordered the platter for 2 for $42. The portion size of the cod and chips were very generous. The cod was very nicely battered, with the coating being nicely crispy and airy, and was seasoned tastily as well. The prawns were also quite good but nothing out of the park. The calamari rings were particularly good; they were nice and crispy, and the seasoning really elevated them, and I’m not someone who usually likes calamari. Unfortunately, the chips were a bit disappointing, as they lacked seasoning and even salt at the bare minimum, and also slightly soggy despite us eating them fresh. The tartare sauce was nice and creamy which helped, but the portion size of it was also quite small given the size of the platter for two people, and I had to ask for it on the side as they had forgotten to give it to me. Overall, still a great experience and I would come back to the Bistro if I was in the area to buy seafood.

We visit this place for the past 2 months to buy baby barramundi. We have had a very strange experience on 09th June. We bought three baby barramundi and requested them to cut those into small pieces. They took more than 20-25 minutes just to cut it and give it to us. In between someone came and was looking to deliver some fish and gave it to someone. He was confused as to whom to deliver and was clueless. Anyway, we came back home (south Brisbane). We found that the wrong fish was given to us and it was only one fish of a bit bigger size than baby barramundi. We immediately called them up and sent them whatsup image of fish. I was a bit reluctant to eat as I have a seafood allergy and I generally eat very selected fish. Anyway, we tried and did not like the fish taste. The quantity was approx half or max 2/3rd of our quantity. We went today (16/06/23) again to buy Baramundi as usual and thought of discussing with the manager our last issues. It was a ridiculous experience. He started saying that he gave us double the cost of our fish last time so it was a better deal they gave us by mistake. Rather than accepting the mistake, he was trying to act smart and trying to fool us. We did not speak much and left the place. Rather than accepting his mistake, he was trying to fool us. And did not have the courtesy to accept mistakes and say a single word "sorry". Anyway, we left the...

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for the last few months since we have started dating, first time we came here was great, fish was good, chips were good can’t complain.

However the second time we went both of us ordered Snapper, chips and Moreton bay bug and we were both feeling very ill after but didn't end up being sick, but a long night on the toilet.

Girlfriend decided to get some salt and pepper squid on its own one afternoon and has ended up in hospital and vomiting for 3 days, confirmed food poisoning by the emergency physician. She hasn’t stopped vomiting in 3 days I’ve never seen someone to sick in my life from food, liquid bowel movements aswell for 3 days, headaches, fever.

I’ve heard similar stories of friends of mine now that I’ve told this story to people that they have been given weird orders like deep fried oysters ? And told that’s what you’ve ordered, he ended up being incredibly ill aswell.

This place is run by kids that have no idea what they are doing and seriously something needs to be done about it, I will not recommend this place to anyone ever again.

I’m 25 and usually wouldn’t care to write a review but honestly I'm pretty upset annoyed that this can happen at a place with...
