A spontaneous visit to Monocle Coffee and we were quite happy with the whole experience. Drink wise, we ordered a skinny cappuccino and an iced soy latte. I loved my cappuccino, simple but tasty. The iced latte was refreshing and the soy taste was lingering but not overpowering. Food wise, we both grabbed their Brekky Burger with halloumi. The dishes were brought out fairly quickly and the aroma from freshly made burgers was already making our mouths watery. We really loved the bun but couldn’t put a finger to the type of bread roll they used. It was chewy on the outside but soft on the inside. The tomato relish on top was quite delicious and provided a tangy flavor that mutualized the grease from the fried egg and halloumi. The Spanish leaves sitting at the bottom was a really nice touch. It was not only easy on the eye but also threw in some freshness into the whole dish. In general, it was a really enjoyable and tasty burger and would come back for more any time. On the plus side, they had a whole cabinet dedicated to pastries and treats, which looked really tempting. For the service, we thought the staff were nice friendly and attentive. And the speed at which they served us our coffees and dishes was amazing. The cafe wasn’t busy when we visited but none of the staff were slacking but rather organized. There were other items on their menu that were worth a try, like their croissant Benny and we would love to go back again and give it a go. All in all, it was a really pleasant experience and would go back again sometime.

Came to Monocle Coffee bright and early on a Saturday morning, and enjoyed our time here! So many freshly baked goods to choose from; a whole array of pastries, pies, cakes, donuts, salads (list goes on)! We got an almond croissant and ham and cheese croissant and really enjoyed them. Unfortunately our coffees tasted really weak, as if they were half-strength... but we weren’t put off too much by it. The vibe of the cafe really made our visit enjoyable, it’s in a great quiet spot but always busy and vibrant. Limited seating inside, but we definitely didn’t mind sitting outside! Only real negative we had was the service. We arrived and weren’t sure whether we needed to wait to be seated, scan a QR code etc, so we waited at the door. After a few staff members looked at us, and looked away, we just gathered we accommodate our own seats. Would have loved to be greeted, or even just smiled at. Regardless, had a great morning here and would recommend to others!

Service quite average, coffee is ok. Food is way too expensive and nothing extraordinary. For 2 tall coffees, 1 sourdough toast with avocado and tiny sprinkle of dukkah, minute slice of cake, 1 serve of toast with just avocado and couple of slices of bacon they charge $48. Also asked for Hollandaise sauce, they've brought some sort of pink tangy sauce... I would only recommend this place if you're on the go and need a takeaway coffee.

While I enjoy the convenience of having a coffee shop just up the road from mine, the coffee isn't fantastic. Like the review given by Dak, it does taste like milk with a bitter taste. I was there on a Sunday morning, presuming one of those busiest time of the day there were only 2 staff including the barista. Having to make coffee for walk-in customers, customer orders from your app and also serve the coffee while the other staff member take in orders and make the food., I feel stress on her behalf. I can feel her stress and totally understand if she feels grumpy and finds it hard to greet the customers with a smile. C'mon Venzin group..surely you're making enough to me able to put on an extra staff member on busy...
