This restaurant is hard to rate and I will try and do so fairly. The food was amazing, We had the degustation menu, the attention to detail that came out on the plates was just fantastic, I had never tried mussels or venision and I am not huge seafoon fan but they were all amazing. However that is where the positive experience ends. The Service was at best nonchalant our waiter looked and acted as though he would rather be anywhere else but at work (understandable I know) however he was also chewing when delivering one of our courses. My girlfriend didnt eat seafood so she did ask if she could swap one of the courses for something else and he was reluctant to do so but did consult with the chef and they said yes. I do not eat mushrooms at al unless they are raw. My girlfriend asked the same waiter is possible to swap my mushroom dish with the same dish they were serving her as a subsitute our waiter just looked at me and said is it for a dietary requirement I said no I just do not eat mushrooms he then said NO we cannot do it. Does not make sense when I was happy to have the same dish they were already swapping for my friend. I did no eat the mushroom dish when it came out and our waiter and I think he was the maitrde and another waiter kept walking past (whilst looking at it constantly), now if they are the fine dining they credit themselves to be this would never have been an issue. I proper fine dining restaurant normally ask's if there is a problem with the dish and if there is they remove it and try and fix the problem. They did not approach me with anything other than to remove the plate and walk away (that is after in sat in front of me for about 15minutes). It is so disappointing that the chef seems to have such passion and dedication to the food he more than does it justice but then the whole experience is let down by snobby, reluctant, unhelpful staff. The other thing that was disappointing is the plates all appeared to be gritty underneath. Overall I would give the food a 10/10 and the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Two Small Rooms Restaurant in Brisbane, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant is located in a charming building in the heart of the city, with a cozy and intimate atmosphere that makes it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a special occasion.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting ambiance. The decor is elegant yet understated, with muted tones and tasteful artwork adorning the walls. The seating is comfortable and the lighting is just right, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
The menu at Two Small Rooms Restaurant is truly outstanding. The dishes are expertly prepared using the freshest local ingredients, and the presentation is nothing short of exquisite. I ordered the duck confit for my main course, and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The duck was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, and the accompanying sides were all delicious and complemented the dish perfectly.
The service at Two Small Rooms Restaurant is exceptional. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive, making sure that all of our needs were met throughout the meal. The wine list is also impressive, with a great selection of local and international wines to choose from.
Overall, I highly recommend Two Small Rooms Restaurant to anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience in Brisbane. The combination of delicious food, outstanding service, and cozy atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for locals and...
Read moreExcellent Dinner Had an 6 Course Degustation with family. Terrine made with venison had superb taste and nothing fell apart where as not well made terrine falls into pieces when picked up with fork. Snails had great aroma that went great with small bread Salmons were cooked with soud vide style which gave both fresh and cooked texture and taste to the salmon making me feel eating sashimi and salmon steak in one dish. Roast duck breast was cooked perfectly giving great bouncing to my teeth while I give a bite to it. Wild Emu Bourguignon on the other hand making me think I am having one perfect stew or casserole style, this would be great choice for people who would like to try authentic Australian Emu cooked in french style. skipping the cheese plate, my best experience was pavaloba with raspberry sorbet. Sweetness of pavaloba with passion fruit sauce was just perfect and it is best pavaloba that I have tasted till now. As I have heard, menu changes once in the while and I would visit again in the future to...
