What to do on a wet Saturday evening? Head down to the local village for a drink and an early dinner with a friend. We sat inside (there is a large deck out front too) at a table, though there is a bit of bar seating. I liked that there were mixed groups – families with small kids, couples, friends, everybody welcome. Service was prompt and very friendly. You order at the bar, and food and drinks are brought to your table. I had a French rosé, the Princess had a Sauv Blanc, and hubby had his usual ginger beer. We shared a few dishes – polenta chips with parmesan and black truffle aioli, crispy fried squid, buttermilk chicken goujons, and halloumi wrapped in prosciutto. The squid was not quite as crispy on the outside as I like, but still delicious. The chicken goujons were tender on the inside, and crispy outside, and came with a flavourful chipotle aioli. We all loved these. The halloumi came with smoked honey and onion jam, which was sweet and tasty. Hubby loved the polenta chips, but I was not so keen. They didn’t have much flavour, and were quite tough, rather than having a squishy inside and a crisp coating. I also didn’t detect much (any?) parmesan. We shared two desserts – elderflower crème brulee and Bailey’s semifreddo – both sweet and creamy and moreish. And so we stayed on, with a prosecco for me and the Princess, and another ginger beer for hubby. A very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours, and we...

Was looking for a place to eat and as I am Keto, I thought I would try this bar down the road from my place. Boy! Talk about striking gold! Didn’t know about their Thursday specials until tonight but now I do, and will try to come back every Thursday! I ordered the 1kg of buffalo chicken (not on special but don’t let that stop you!), it was magnificent! Actually had a bit of spice to it too, which I feel like a lot of places are afraid to do! I loved every bite of it! The steak was on special and I’ll tell you what, it’ll be criminal not to have a go! It was mouth watering perfection! The (owners?) were super lovely and attentive people too. Despite how busy it was, they would still go out of their way to assist where they could. It have a very homely feel even with it’s rocking live music buzzing atmosphere! 10/10 would 100% come back. More people should know about Wilston Village Bar and please don’t wait until Thursday...

Just had my 40th at Wilston Village Bar. I am still on a high after such a tremendous day! Karen and her Team of amazing staff made my birthday one which I will remember for many years to come! From the service to the food, this Venue far exceeded my expectations!

The food was delicious, hot and very generous portions.

The drinks were well priced and they were happy to personalise the bar tab for our needs with an excellent selection of house Beers and Wines on the Menu.

Music wasn't a stress! Personalise your Spotify Play List and they can play it for you. Music was at a comfortable volume and the tunes pumped all day.

Assistance with decorating was provided and helpful ideas were a-plenty!

The venue was clean, comfortable for young and old, with plenty of fans and ventilation.

I was absolutely thrilled with the event and I want to thank the entire staff and Karen for making my birthday...

Wilston Village Bar is a standout local. The food is consistently great, and the parmy is easily my favourite—made with real care and quality ingredients. They’ve got a solid happy hour every day from 4–6pm with $8 schooners, which is hard to beat. Some Sundays feature sets from DJ Rory, and the atmosphere really comes alive. The staff are friendly, down-to-earth, and always make you feel welcome. It’s the kind of place that gets the little things right.
