From the moment we entered, we were treated with disrespect. A tall male staff member wearing glasses and a grey shirt approached us and greeted us by speaking in Chinese. We are Asian, but we are not Chinese, and when we told him so, he dismissively responded, “Yeah? So what are you going to eat?” in a rude and condescending tone. This was already an unpleasant and discriminatory start to our experience. We ordered two servings of xiao long bao, the pork ribs, the beef rice noodle roll marked “22” in red on the menu, the prawn and chive dumplings, and two drinks. However, the wrong rice noodle roll was served. Since it was our first time trying this menu, we weren’t familiar with the appearance of each dish, so we asked the male staff who served it whether it was what we ordered. He insisted it was correct, so we had a few bites. However, it didn’t taste right, so we asked again and realised it was not what we had ordered. When we raised this with a female staff member—she had her short hair tied back and was wearing a grey shirt—she dismissively said, “You already ate it.” We asked her to check again since it was not the dish we had ordered. The tall male staff member with glasses and a grey shirt returned to our table, sarcastically said, “Oops, my finger made a mistake,” and laughed while taking the plate back abruptly. He briefly placed the dish back on our table, then suddenly snatched it away again without any proper explanation. What was even more disturbing was that we noticed this staff member and others talking at the POS/bar area, speaking in Chinese, assuming we couldn’t understand them. This experience was extremely upsetting. The service was not only unprofessional but also racially insensitive and condescending. We felt disrespected and unwelcome throughout the entire meal. We do not wish to return, and we hope that proper training and disciplinary action will be taken to prevent this kind of experience for others. When the dish was brought out again, it was still not fully cooked, which added to our disappointment and concern about food safety.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience - Feedback on Visit Unfortunately, our experience was entirely ruined by how your staff handled a situation involving my two young children, aged 7 and 8, who do not eat Asian food. As responsible parents, we had brought simple food for them so that the rest of our family could still enjoy dining at your restaurant and order extensively from your menu, including the all-you-can-eat option, crab dishes, and other items. At no point upon arrival were we informed of your "no outside food" policy. In fact, the only signage indicating this was located upstairs, which we only noticed as we were leaving. A staff member (possibly a manager in a grey shirt) approached and informed us that outside food was not permitted — even for young children. While I understand such policies for adults, applying this rigidly to young children who were not interfering with service is extremely disappointing. In an attempt to comply, I told my children they could sit downstairs to eat their food quietly. Shockingly, your staff were comfortable with this solution, which would have involved two young children sitting unsupervised outside the restaurant while we dined upstairs. This is not only unreasonable but also unacceptable from a safety and legal perspective. Given this complete lack of flexibility, understanding, or basic duty of care, we were left with no alternative but to leave the restaurant entirely without placing any order — after having travelled a significant distance purely to dine at your establishment. As a business in the hospitality industry, your staff's handling of the situation lacked both compassion and common sense. Had your team shown even a minimal level of understanding, we would have happily paid for multiple meals and additional menu items. I hope you take this feedback seriously and review your approach to families, particularly where young children are concerned. Inflexible policies applied without discretion only result in lost customers and damaging word-of-mouth. Sincerely, Sharni

26/2 - Most of the food was still good, but there are a few things that need to be mentioned here! The Questionable 》 》 》 》 #FACTS 1) They still do not have Crispy Pork belly. 2) The Cantonese noodles were flavourless 3) The fried rice was your run of the mill, and You didn't get alot on the plate for the ridiculous price of $25 ?? (For rice thats Criminal) 4) The sticky rice Pork shu Mai dumplings were bland, and completely flavourless . 5) They still do not have crispy skin duck. 6) We asked for soy sauce and got approx 2 table spoons in a little pourer . 7) They also skimp on the sriracha sauce . We had to request more on 2 occasions. 8) A small glass of coke is now a whopping $6. 9) The Menu's are in an appalling state, and are Torn and filthy - Not a great look or feel, and you find yourself now questioning the quality of the food being served ? 10) The server also had a Bat in the cave, which made ordering rather awkward 😳 I wanted to tell him, but my partner said it was disrespectful to even raise it with them ? 😕 Original post - Nov 2024 It is still as good as the day it opened, and the staff are very in tune with their customers, also their needs. (Someone is always walking the lounge) I'll be honest, since they stopped the cart service due to changes to Qld OH&S legislation, it is a little clunky ordering for four and having dishes arrive to the table when you are still waiting for the main dishes, such as a side of fried rice. The positive is that the dumplings are yum, and there is a good range of steamed and fried options to find the balance. Disappointingly, on our last two visits, we were not able to order the crispy pork belly or the duck. The crispy pork belly actually isn't on the menu any longer. Atmosphere : 26/2 There has been no change to the restaurant beyond the new bowls on tables 👎 The furniture and the overall restaurant itself is very dated & in need of a revamp . Hopefully, this place will continue to thrive, and the upkeep and maintenance issues will be remedied 🙏

We had a disappointing experience with a long list of issues during our visit, and it will be our first and last time coming here. Initially, things seemed promising, and we even planned to return for a final celebration at the end of the year. However, by the end of the night, our decision to never come back was solidified.

Firstly, we encountered the problem of having only one bill per table, which was inconvenient for our large group. Secondly, we were not informed beforehand that two menus were available: an all-you-can-eat option and an à la carte menu. This caused confusion, and the prices for the meals were unreasonably high. Additionally, if anyone wanted the all-you-can-eat menu, they had to sit separately with a different menu. This arrangement was uncomfortable for our group as we wanted to stay together, and we were not made aware of this when we made the reservation. Therefore forcing us to adjust our appetite to stay together.

Furthermore, the pricing could have been more consistent and clear. When we received the bill after struggling with confusing prices and a menu guide that needed more clarity, the prices did not match those on the menu. A male staff member, possibly the manager, was very vocal about changing the price "one last time" due to a system error and the pending arrival of new menus. Although they eventually adjusted one of the prices on the bill, they still need to rectify the other three identical items we had ordered. It took them four attempts to get the bill right, and they even attempted to overcharge us with multiple items from the menu.

The service could have been better. Our table needed to be consistently addressed, and we had to request various things repeatedly. One of the meals was even ordered incorrectly, and the correct one arrived when everyone else had nearly finished eating.

To make matters worse, the prices were significantly higher than we initially thought. When I made the booking, I specifically asked the staff for the average price of the à la carte menu, and I was told it was $13. However, upon arrival, we were provided with a menu listing average prices between $30 and $35. This was more than double the amount we had expected.

Overall, our experience was highly unpleasant and different from what we had hoped for as a celebration...
