San Churro recently launched their new home delivery service with a promotional offer of free delivery. We tested the service with an order of the lil loopy snack pack: $17 for 6 loopy churros in your choice of coatings. This is $1 more than getting a 6 pack of regular shaped (straight) churros, though you get more coating options with the loopys. We chose a mixture of the following options: * plain - dusted with cinnamon sugar * choco nut - chocolate doughnut glaze + chopped peanuts * unicorn - chocolate doughnut glaze + 100s and 1000s * kooky butter - cookie butter & lotus biscuit crumb There’s also an ‘over the rainbow’ one that we didn’t choose, which looks to be chocolate doughnut glaze + M&Ms. The snack pack comes with a choice of one dip, and we had the milk chocolate. I found the choco nut to be a bit too sweet for my tastes, and whilst the plain one is always a good option for this reason, my favourite was actually the kooky butter flavour.

I am really happy that San Churro offers so many vegan options. There are various churros options, milkshakes, hot chocolate and other drinks that are vegan. I tried the classic vegan churros for two and they were good but quite overpriced in my opinion. (For six churros and two pots of chocolate I was around $15 I think, I can’t find the prices on the online menu unfortunately which speaks for itself). But what’s really disappointing are the drinks. I ordered a butter cookie frappe with almond milk for $9 and it looked nothing like the picture and tasted barely like anything. They also use plastic straws and other disposable plastic for take out which is unnecessary in 2019, in my opinion.

Concept is good but the execution is terrible. This review is largely based on the rubbish customer service. Tables are never cleared and wait times are long for both ordering and delivery of food. I can’t understand why the staff are so rude. Tonight one of the group ordered a no sugar hot chocolate. The staff member who served it told them it was regular hot chocolate. When asked if it was no sugar as ordered her response was “sorry I don’t know how I’m meant to know that, I’m new”. A distinct lack of training is evident but no surprise as everyone seems to hate their job who works here. Makes for an unfortunate experience overall. I give up on this place.

Firstly I live in Bundaberg but on my regular trips to Brisbane for treatment I ensure that I visit a San Churro store. On my last trip we chose the Garden City Store ... usually I would go to Chermside, but their service has not been the same. Anyway we chose Garden City and I have to say the Service and food there was exceptional. I must make mention of Leeka... she was absolutely exceptional. If I could give an award for Service .. she would receive it hands down.. im not sure if she is the manager there .. she should be. She went above and beyond to accommodate us .. and by that I mean she was very friendly ... she has an amazing personality.... she presented the best service I have encountered at a San Churro store and the difference being she showed she cared and we mattered. And the food she served to us was exceptional. Not one complaint .. everything was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service. We left with smiles on our faces. I did at the time say thank you to Leeka before we left. We also called back in the next night after the movies purely because of our experience the previous day .. and the store was very busy. Leeka saw me and acknowledged me .. I was surprised ... she took the time to say hello. But again the service was excellent. It proved it was not just a one day experience. I got the best hot chocolate that night. I did tell Leeka I was going to do a review im just sorry I didn't do it sooner. So if you get to read this Leeka .. a big thank you for your service to my best friend and I on my recent trip to Brisbane. I will be back mid July and will definitely be coming back to your store. You renewed my faith in service and the quality of the food at San Churros. Congratulations San Churro Garden City ... you are the best !!! Thoroughly recommend this store and make a point of saying hello to Leeka can't miss her she has the...

Went on a Sunday night and it was maybe 1/4 full if that. The tables were clear and tidy. Unfortunately what spoiled it was the obviously untrained staff walking around dazed looking for customers with plates of food that were melting and/or getting cold.

We ordered 3 coffees and the strawberry bowl. The coffees arrived cold meaning that they were either sitting around for ages before a runner took them, the barista doesn't understand the correct temperatures to foam milk or that the mugs weren't hot. The strawberries were nice although a lot more care could go into them being cut as I did have to pick off a lot of leafy bits. Having the strawberries halved instead of full would be a recommendation I would make and to not be so tight with the amount of chocolate it comes with. It was definitely not enough to be able to enjoy this dish to the fullest.

All in all I probably wouldn't come back to this particular San Churro. This isn't being put down to a staffing issue. It's a teaching and management issue from what I saw as a customer and as an ex hospitality trainer and staff. I would return if I knew that the management had seriously stepped up their game and injected a sense of pride and confidence...

I recently visited the Garden City San Churros store on my birthday hoping to redeem the Birthday Offer, as an el Social member and customer to the franchise over many years.

In attempt to claim the offer, the staff were not accommodating, and handled the matter in an unprofessional manner. They consulted between multiple staff members and a disgruntled manager who could not resolve the issue, before completely ignoring the situation altogether. I showed my identification, attempted to access my account (which appeared to be deleted) and was asked to create a new account... all of which did not resolve the problem. This made for a really unpleasant and awkward Birthday experience.

Apparently there is an update to the el Social membership system with new terms and conditions to satisfy the Birthday offer. I have never been advised to scan the el Social App upon any previous visits to the store... but now it is a pre-requisite to make a 'scanned' full-priced purchase in the past 12 months.

Whilst we ended up purchasing churros regardless, the whole experience left a...
