Extremely rude staff. Mum and I were at the counter and discussing what we should order with no one lining up behind us. The waitress walked up to us three times in the middle of our conversation and yelled out “ARE YOU READY TO ORDER?”. I politely said “Can you please give us a second?” She did not reply with anything and just turned around and walked away.
When we finished discussing what we wanted, we stood there and waited patiently to be served. The same waitress saw us but she avoided eye contact, pretended she didn’t see us and made us wait for another couple minutes, even though she did not look like she was busy doing anything.
When she finally decided to serve us, we ordered and further discussed on the meals because we weren’t sure if we should order something extra. The waitress kept cutting into our conversation, yelling out “IS EVERYTHING OKAY?” multiple times. When Mum asked if there was a deal for the meals and the waitress just shook her head. When we got back to the table with our friends we found out that our friends got the deal and it actually existed.
Even though we enjoyed the food a lot, that particular waitress made the experience very unpleasant for us, especially after finding out the deal actually existed and she simply just did not want to tell us.
We have dined here multiple times previously and have never experienced anything like this. This particular staff is shockingly unprofessional. We are extremely disappointed with the service we received.
I will not be recommending anyone to go to Zen Corner. I don’t think it is fair for anyone to purchase meals then receive this kind...
Read moreHave passed by this place so many times and the smell from this shop was so inviting. Finally decided to give this place a try and it did not disappoint. The 3 noodle dishes were Lamb noodle soup, spicy intestines noodle soup and fish with pickled veg noodle soup. The fish with pickled veg was the best out of the 3. The fish taste and texture was exactly like that of the Singapore's slice fish noodle soup. The entire dish was exactly like that too. Finally found this gem when I miss this dish from motherland. The intestine soup didn't have too much of a gamey scent. They were soft and spiciness is needed to make this dish taste good. You can tell the owner how spicy would want it to be. The lamb soup noodles was ok, maybe because I'm not use to such a dish. The owner was friendly and chatty. Asking us for our feedback on the food. He was patient to explain to us the food. Now that's great service. One improvement would be to increase the protein portion by 10%. Next visit will try their wonton noodles (Dry) which is their signature dish. Read moreMy review is based only on food and services offered at Zen Flavours, which I assume to be the same owner of Zen Corner but with a different business name. We ordered a few dishes on different occasions. On all occasions, staffs were friendly and courteous.
The hot plate spicy pig’s intestine with rice and the flavour was lovely, and tasted really good. Steamed fish in spicy sauce with rice was horrible, and the hot plate beef brisket with rice was not really nice, very salty. Lastly, we ordered the hainanese chicken rice (with a chef recommendation logo) and regretted. Both the rice and chicken were totally tasteless. The ginger paste was so full of oil that you can’t have it properly to go with the...
