Visited on 18/4/25 as part of our Easter retreat, driving up the coast from Sydney. This was our first stop, and the kids were already getting hungry. With two young and fairly picky eaters, we decided to head into Oliver’s after seeing the kids' menu, which offered a burger and chips option.

We placed our order. While we understood and accepted the delay due to the busy shop, we were stunned when the food arrived: the "hamburger" was tiny. Words can't really describe it — even a photo wouldn't do it justice — but imagine the size of the top of a standard soda can. That’s it.

Yes, it was a kids' meal, but this wouldn’t satisfy anyone older than maybe three years old. It felt more like an infant’s portion rather than a proper kids' meal. And the price? $11.95. Absolutely ridiculous and frankly shameful.

To be fair, the venue was relatively clean — a little messy with the high foot traffic, but not dirty — and the staff did their best to cope with the demand, even if service was a bit sluggish. There’s definitely room for improvement there.

I understand this is likely a network-wide issue rather than something specific to the Bulahdelah shop, but unfortunately for them (and for me), it was at Oliver’s Bulahdelah that I learned a hard lesson: never again at Oliver’s. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice,...

I think this Oliver’s has a problem. We usually love the food and vibe at Olivers up and down the coast but the staff at Bulahdelah were rubbish. It wasn’t that busy when we walked in for lunch today, stood at the counter looking at the two staff expectantly, waiting to be acknowledged & served. 5 minutes later, we are still waiting while they prepare food and look at us sometimes but say and do nothing. No ‘Hey won’t be long’ or ‘We’re understaffed, would you mind ordering on the touchscreen?’ Or even a SMILE in our direction. Unbelievable! So we order on the touchscreen otherwise I guess we don’t eat. 🤷‍♀️😳 Food was pretty good at least. Not great for the price but ok. Chicken on the burger was dry and green beans a bit limp. But flavour was good. We sit and watch while the same treatment happens to most of the others who walk in. If a line forms , one of the staff wander over. But no smiles. One even chose to empty the bin in front of the counter while people were waiting to be served! Then mozie’s on up to the counter to serve the poor lady watching her. Far out. As we leave , I see a new lady, in casual clothes serving the waiting line. I wonder if that was the boss/owner jumping in because no one else seems to care. 👎🏼 I’ll think twice before stopping to eat at this...

I picked up my coffee today, which was extremely under weight, I asked for it to be topped up, and was told, 'its full, if I put any more milk in, it will spill over'. and then she still added another inch of so of milk, and it didnt spill, I picked it up again, it was still not a full cup of coffee, I took it and pushed the foam back, it was still a good inch from the top of the cup. I dont mind paying 5 bucks for a cup for a coffee, but I would suggest you teach your staff how to make a cappucinno coffee and fill the cup. I dont like complaining, I just dont spend my money there again, and Im sure others who are given half a cup of coffee will do the same if your staff arent trained in barista, or customer service. Its a franchise that dumped itself in the front of a beautiful town, and its all about money, not customer service or satisfaction.. the cafe wasnt terribly busy, so it wasnt a mistake from overworked staff, I was served fast, but the product was lousy and not...

Great food for a pit stop, and I'm generally a fan of Oliver's Bulahdelah. However on this stop, before eating food -- we want to wash our hands. There's no soap. I asked the counter -- "ah yeah, we're all out." No solutions to wash patron hands in a place that serves food that you use your hands to eat with. That's not acceptable in an establishment that gets high turnover from commuters and passer throughs, or any place that sells food you eat with your fingers. I've got 3 kids. I want them all to wash their hands before they eat burgers, edemame and fries. I was directed by another patron to the public toilets outside to get hand soap. That's just not on. C'mon management; this is a easy one to get right. Peri Peri chicken burger was great though! [Edit: another patron literally just bought a large dettol hand soap and donated it to the handbasin area. Management or the kitchen staff should have done that].

Service needs major improvement, sandwiches BAD, lady manager working from last night had horrible service. Bought 4 sandwiches, an orange juice and banana bread, $45 dollars later. Two of the sandwiches had next to black avocado with one day left till expiry as they all had the same date. Had taken one back to counter and lady had no eye contact, asking to grab another one from the fridge. Placed the second one back and manager asked which one I touched (which were several as I was checking the dates) and threw the original one saying it was touched and needed to be thrown out. Never again will we drop through here or any Oliver's Real Food. This place has HUGE potential to compete with Macca's and other places just need to be run well under these circumstances. This place needs training on customer service as we could forgive bad food, but cannot forgive bad service. Cheers.
