Bento Box — Restaurant in Burnie

It's one of those places where it depends who you get. I've been there before and had beautiful food from friendly people. And sometimes you go there and they're rude and unfriedly and the food you get is noticbly less fresh than you've had before. I just went there recently and it was empty. The couple of people behind the counter all just kept looking at me, slack jawed, while I waited at the counter in silence. It felt like I'd just walked into a strangers home unannounced. Eventually a third showed up but didn't speak enough english to take my order, was rude and unfriendly and kept repeating the same thing to me over and over in a language other than english as if she was frustrated I couldn't understand her! The fact Ive had good meals there and met friendly staff in the past is the only reason Im not hitting them with a 1 star. Get your act...

As someone who’s never had Japanese cuisine before my knowledge of it is very limited so you can imagine my shock when I went into the Bento Box in Burnie & asked the short lady with glasses at the counter if avocado were in their sushi rolls (I’m allergic to avocado) & instead of answering me she looked at me like I was the the biggest inconvenience to her. She made me feel bad so I just left. I’ve heard their food is fantastic but because of terrible service I got I didn’t get to try the food. I’m planning to visit the Bento Box in Devonport next week & i hope their staff are a lot better...

I’m pretty relaxed with express sushi places as long as it’s fresh & tasty. So disappointed after paying over $50 for dried overcooked teriyaki chicken pieces. The sashimi was cut haphazardly and just didn’t have a fresh taste to it or it was a piece of bad salmon & the Goyzas were slightly too burnt.
