Ordered two smoothies (Banana Choc and Choc Berry) and a zucchini loaf today. The loaf was really flavourful, good consistency and quantity. The smoothies were mediocre - actually, I would strongly advise against the Choc Berry one - watery and the taste was off. Also, something I was not impressed with at all is that they advertise that all their food is healthy, and free from cruelty and exploitation. I asked the server how they could make that claim if they serve dairy (one of the cruelest industries around). She responded "Maybe it's because of the free range eggs"? - also an extremely cruel practice. I've seen first hand the pain and suffering that "free-range" chickens are subjected to. Although I prefer a vegetarian restaurant to a non-veg one for ethical reasons... false advertising and misleading people into believing that these industries aren't extremely cruel is wrong. Hope management changes...
Read moreThe Manna Haven is part of the Seven Day Adventist Church. There a lovely wrap around verandah, outdoor seating and a deck. The menu changes every day and it's a delicious vegan section. It's a little limited in choices although what was available was good. A dish starts from $10, 2 choice $18 and 3 choices $22. The staff explaining this pricing system seemed to not fully understand or explain this. I had three types of salad for $10, but our other dish was an eggplant lasagne and a bit of salad for $18. Didn't feel for the amount of salad that was right pricing? It's a non profit, so thought that price was incorrect. They are dog friend and the garden is lovely. I would go back again but with all the choices in Byron highly recommend that the staff are fully trained in explaining how the pricing works. Because there were three of us and we all came...
Read moreThe food at Manna Haven was absolutely incredible— so good that we went there for lunch everyday for the four days that we were in Byron Bay. The food is spiced amazingly, and the options changed daily— always with delicious hot savory dishes and salads— many of which are vegan and gluten free. We also took a dessert for take away everyday, and they were beautiful, delicious and gluten free and vegan too! My partner, who is not gf or vegan, said that if he could learn to cook the food from Manna Haven, then he could easily become vegan/gf! Our meals at Manna Haven were warm, very filling, cooked with love, affordable, and we are so grateful we discovered Manna Haven our first day in Byron. Also, the cafe is beautiful and open with lots of space— both indoor...
