This Japanese run restaurant stands out in the area for providing solid authentic Japanese meals. You can get your Japanese classics from sushi and sashimi through to mains and Bento meals with the menu being restaurant grade Japanese rather than common generic quick and easy Japanese. We found the food overall to be up to standard with fresh seafood, traditional sauces and flavours, vibrant Bento boxes, and overall satisfyingly good. The only slight letdown was that the chicken karaage side dish was over fried. Otherwise, it's very good for local authentic Japanese.

Food is fantastic. Simple, yet understated and delicious.

Service isn't the best and very surprising, seeing that the chef and operator are of Japanese descent. Having enjoyed great hospitality in Japan, and to experience this at Sado - was quite disappointing. Especially when an effort was made to speak in basic Japanese.
